Risk 2210 is an excellent variation on Risk. Risk Legacy is also supposed to be really fun. I’d look there.

It’s a great idea, and you can do all sorts of goofy stuff in a 1962 setting including an alien invasion event that could force the US and USSR to work together. Plus why not cash in on the new Red Scare consuming the US’s news cycle?

I’m beginning to think Nazis and Zombies go together like Peanut Butter and Jelly.

If you come into A&A, of any variety, expecting perfect historical accuracy than you’re doing it wrong. Game play has always trumped historical accuracy / realism in this series of games.

Could someone please stop by the Axis and Allies booth at Gencon and take some detailed pictures of the board and the pieces? I was hoping for some new pieces! At Avalon  hill or wizards of the coast hopefully!

From what I’ve seen of what has been posted online, I would expect the pieces to be a re-run of the pieces from the Anniversary reprint. To be honest, the only new sculpts they promised were the Zombies, of which they have three.

We’re getting close to GenCon and I’m scheduled to play on Saturday morning (Sorry I’m busy all day Thursday with Catan and Friday with A&A) so hopefully we can ask anything at this point. But feel free to ask soft ball and specific questions. Of course, I’ll reserve the right to not include any questions and let’s keep it positive.

Seriously though, a game with a map about '42 size with rules for playing an intro version of the European War from 1939 to 1941 and main rules for playing from '41 to the end? That actually does sound intriguing to me.

This bit here is what gives me hope for the game. Especially if there’s a way to play out the whole war starting from 1939.

…Just as long as they don’t cheap out on the components (wishful thinking, I know) or make another 1941-small map…
