It didn’t occur to me until now how nicely that Presidential speech from Babylon Five resonates with the one from Independence Day, even though they express completely opposite outlooks on the prospect of human extinction.

It wasn’t as “cheesy” as ID though….for a low budget series, they did pretty damn well… here’s my other fav Pres speech from a movie (since I can’t go with Battlestar)

I address you tonight not as the President of the United States, not as the leader of a country, but as a citizen of humanity. We are faced with the very gravest of challenges.
