@Panther
Thank you very much !
What was original retail price of A +A Anniversary Edition?
-
They went quick, that’s for sure. Current prices online are still crazy prices.
-
I read that somewhere, so it may be true or not.

Ah. Cheers. Damns… was thinking there was a product number hidden somewhere.
-
It’s a great game! Glad I was back into Axis and Allies in Fall 2008 and got my copy!
-
I think I paid over 120$ (I don’t live at the US) but I simply didn’t care because the was the only copy at the store and the guy who had ordered it had cancelled the order. One of the best Xmas I had :D

His loss! -
This one is going for quite a bit - one of his armies is painted and has some transfers… nice.
-
Gorgeous.
So my used set is worth 500-600 now? It will probably keep rising. :-D
He also says only a “few thousand” were printed. Might be a guess, but is probably a good guess. -

I noticed this question was posed a couple times on Larry’s website - but none of them were ever responded to.
Ah well… Not even sure why I’m so curious, don’t think I’ll be parting with mine anytime soon 8-)

Ain’t that the truth?
I suppose if you could buy one for $500 and then sell one for $800-$1,000, that would be shrewd….
It really is a great game, and it didn’t take long in November 2008 for that to become obvious. :-)Another special thing about Anniversary - with the 3 boards, you can actually re-arrange it during the game to put America in the middle of the map. This doesn’t work well with global (America on Europe map doesn’t line up with America on Pacific map - nowhere near :-()
-
I already replaced the Italian pieces with
FMG pieces for the axis and allies Europe 1940. -
This is the best price I’ve found off of ebay, if anyone’s interested.
-
Hm - $450 new
-
1000 buys is 500,000$
can’t be enough?
probably more than that
500$ is PRICEY -
Hm - $450 new
Not enough.
Someone whisper me when they are selling (on eBay) for $1500-$3500 USD. That should be enough to get my collection broken up.
-
Don’t hold your breath, not for a very very long time.
-

Yeah, really! I only have one and I use it, so I would only sell it if I could buy another one from somebody else for less!

Not going to see that happing anytime soon… or probably ever Gamer. :| On BBG: “Boardgames that fired others. Axis & Allies 50th Anniversary, fired all previous and subsequent versions of A&A. They create the perfect version of A&A, then decide to make only about 15 copies of it and follow up with the worst version to date (which gets a print run of about 17 million units). !!!”
EH eh eh - I don’t totally agree with it (Global just needs some work is all - but I do still believe AA50th is the best)… though the above statement did give me a chuckle.
-
Yes, that is interesting. Can you provide the link?
Are you sure they’re talking about Global, or are they talking about Spring 1942? (Spring 1942 is quite good, by the way) -

Number 36…
No, upon paging further down, I don’t think the newer editions were considered/were not released(?), though those responding to the post look to have assumed so. It does say “subsequent”. I agree, I like the 1942 edition - except the board is a little small (but then again, it kinda suits that version/compact/shorter game time).
