Okay aa50 can take 2-10+ hours. Global can take 6 hours to a few days.

The longest aa50 game I had lasted 32 hours because Germany was on the brink of losing, had a miracle defense against UK USA attack… Hit improved artillery with 1 tech roll that has been going for a long time suddenly has enough to kill south europe, survives another UK all in blast. Meanwhile Japans 30 tanks 5 bombers dies to Russia 25 inf 2 USA fighter (5 aa gun hits)  the Game that refused to end.

So global just takes long where as aa50 if it takes long it is because the game ending battles failed.

Playing again this weekend.  I’ll take some pictures of the board setup.  I have downloaded and printed a 39"x119" double map from Imperious Leaders map selection.  It’s frickin’ huge.

How would the odds fall with 3 subs 1 bomber?

Now that was a depravity line of thinking. Imagine Eisenhower abort D-day 1944 because the odds was not good enough. We would all be speaking german now. If you want to win games, you need to strenghten your fighting spirit and breed more aggression. Peacekeepers dont win wars, you know that, now do you ? Butt enough talk. Now you better gimme a + karma and help me reach the magic 800 before Frog.

I think it’s pretty clear how AA guns work from reading their unit profile in the Rulebook.  However, I agree that the defense value listed could be a bit misleading.  On the other hand, this value has been in place since Revised (we playtesters are so awful that we can actually go back in time and screw things up in the past  :roll:), and to my knowledge this is the first time that this question has ever been asked.  Maybe it would be better if the defense value value were listed as “Special”.

As for ICs, they’re defense is “NA” because they never fire under any circumstances, which is not true of AA guns.

Download the unstable version for AA50

If you download the unstable version keep in mind that it hasn’t been fully developed yet. Expect rules that haven’t been implemented yet, bugs and other sorts of quirky behaviour.

After all, it is still a beta version :)
