2012 - AA50-41 - League Results and Standings
-
I’ve found the fountain of youth! :-D I took my beatings last year. lol!
Its my most wins and games since '07 Revised. Don’t think I’ll match 19/23 though. That was a fun season. And as I recall, I think you had a pretty good year that year too.
Infact, you have the highest win % ever for someone who’s played more than 14 games since we started doing leagues. 16-2. Pretty impressive. What happened to that JWW? :-D -
It’s good to be back. Feels good to get that first game under my belt. Let’s hope I keep pitching a shutout.
-

The more I play, the more remarkable I find all those players that have very high winning percentages. Considering that this is a dice game and luck or lack thereof is inevitable, the simple fact that players are posting above 70-80% winning percentages is quite remarkable.
And i just need to roll off 12 straight wins to get to 16-2 again……should be an easy task. HA
And for those of you who don’t know U-505, he is a great trash talker so beware.

Well, you better not play me, then. Goat lover.

I honestly have no idea how this trash talking reputation got started.

Spoke too soon. Lost the shutout in the 2nd inning.

GG, U-505!
It was actually Allies +9 for our game – I have no idea if that matters to anyone keeping track, but just in case… :)

Actually, yes, I keep track.
If you haven’t, see the stickied thread “Gamerman’s rankings” and check out the league standings always kept up to date on a daily basis.
3rd tab is tracking Axis v. Allies and bid amounts -

So what do you think about the fact that at this point, the Axis have won 71.4% of all games in the 2012 league season, with an average bid of 8 going to the Allies? :-)
The dice are going to beat the Axis SOMEtimes. But they’re STILL winning > 71.4% (40-16 record)

I was Allies +9 in that game. Thanks for the rematch, U-505!
-
Not 100% sure without looking it up, but I believe FYI only TWO league games count between players, unless they are split.
Just a friendly note so you guys don’t rematch again thinking it will count for 2012 league.
Thought you might not know since these are the first 2 games you guys have played in league (at least in a long while) and the rules have changed from last year (used to be able to sweep 3 game series).Cheers

Gamer over LL(+19), 23 rounds
LL put the hurt on Japan early and often, including with a Russian bid fighter, but Gamer wins “the only front that matters” for a huge comeback after being left for dead in rounds 5-8 - (take that, JWW) - no 2 losses for me yet
GG and hope to play you again some day Luck

Good Grief, Gamerman. A 19 bid. I’ll take that action if you’re offering. :-D
-
Yeah, that started way back last November or so.
I don’t want a good player putting 19 on the Russian western front…
Lucky for me the 19 and 21 bids I allowed involved planes
Since DM schooled me (with no small help from the dice :-)) with a Russian front bid, I’ve backed off a bit.STILL - I maintain that the Axis have a big advantage in 1941 with NO’s and no tech (and Dardanelles open!), and the 2011 and 2012 results have proven my hunch correct so far…
As DM has wondered, the appropriate bid (50% chance) is probably north of 12… I wouldn’t give 19 or more in a serious game against someone of equal skill (no offense, dudes)…
And in my latest 2 serious games against Zhukov (2011 League championship and 3rd place game in 2011 Tournament, if that’s ever going to happen) I got stuck with the Allies at 11 in both - so that reveals my true beliefs.

@JWW:
2012 League standings to date
Very impressive runs by TYZOQ & Yoshi. Good to see U-505 back! And an old dinosaur has risen from the ashes to claim an impressive 8-1 record. Does the old man have the legs to get to the playoffs?
| Player | W-L | Pct |
| Tyzoq | 6-0 | 100% |.

.Glad to see my handle spelled correctly this year
