Sub question

I know there’s been a lot of sub questions right now but I just have one.

Germany bought a destroyer and there was a russian sub in the baltic. On the noncombat phase the Germans place a BB there, then they put their purchased destroyer in the baltic. When it’s russia’s turn what are the sub’s options?

a. It has to attack the destroyer and BB or…

b. It can try to escape but the DD and BB get to fire at it.

c. or something else.

I hope this makes sense.

It can either escape, or else it’s forced to do combat with the DD and BB (it can’t treat the sea zone as non-hostile since there’s an enemy DD).

I’ve got a question about surprise-attacks on CV with fighters on it.

I know SS got special abilities and that they’re cancelled out by a present enemy DD.

But lets say i attack with 2 SS against 1 enemy CV with 2 fighters on it (no DD present!)

What does the combat looks like?

1st round of combat: 2x SS surprise attack (both miss), defenders CV fires back (misses), 2x defenders fighter backfire (both miss).

2nd round of combat 2x SS surprise attack (1 hit) > defenders CV goes down without conducting backfire, can the fighters fight back in this case, or not ?

I hope someone can clear this ot for me…

The Fighters cannot hit the Subs, as no  DD is present.
The combat is 2 rolls of two (both Subs)  vs one at two (the Carrier only).

Found another question  :-D

What if Japans got a fleet of 1 cv (1 fighter on it) and 2 subs. That fleet gets attacked by US fighters and bombers (no ships!!)
Can the subs be chosen as cuasualties or not ?

Subs cannot be hit by planes unless they are accompanied by a destroyer.

Nor can subs hit the planes.

So the subs do not take part in the battle whether they submerge or not.

Just to clarify, the planes must be accompanied by a destroyer, not the subs.  :-)

And just to further clarify, the destroyer is floating in the water, not flying alongside the airplane.  :)  Or to put it another way, the plane is paired with a destroyer rather than accompanied by it.
