Yeah, i looked at the site and i saw everything Thanks everyone :-D :-D
Tigerman's Barbarossa Game now at HBG
-
I may be partial to this game because it is my creation….but we play this more than any other game. easy 2 player game and it has enough meat to keep you thinking. The weather and combat initiative keeps the game dynamic from being the same each game. To me thats what makes a game fun…the luck factor…just as long as it doesnt make or break the gaem!

Is there a good image of just the map?

If you go to historical board gaming site or go to boardgamegeek and type in the this game in the search function, there are many pictures of it. I’m seriously thinking about getting it, myself. I just got to see what all I need for it.

HBG pic is blurry and can’t find it on BBG

I know why you couldn’t find it. He had it under this title, operation: Barbarossa. If you type that in the search space, you will get it, because I just did it. That is why you couldn’t find it. Try that. The only other place it might be is youtube.

I appreciate the help, just I want a clean and crisp pic of the entire map, preferably with either no units on it or the starting units.

No problem! That was the only places I knew that had pictures.

Playing the game for the first time. Germany big push and looks like a 3 front attack going to happen after turn 1. Russia left a few blockers behind to slow German push to Moscow. Germany did lose alot of tac bombers and a few med tanks do to high die rolls for the combat casualties list. Have a few questions. So if trucks ( move 2 ) can carry up to 4 of these units at one time. Infrantry, artillery, and supplys in non combat only, then why is it that supplies can move 2 spaces? So when can supplies move on there own or can’t they?
Also what did you guys do with finland?
-
I myself don’t have the game, but I want it. I got to see what extra I need to buy, besides the map. Sorry, wish I could answer your question. Tigerman could probably tell you, when he can.

Started with the wrong rules 3.0. Found my 4.0 rules where trucks move 4 spaces and supplies move 1. So that answered my question. For the advance setup charts that I have do not match with the new rules 4.0 for all planes. So advance setup charts need to be updated unless I have wrong charts.
John Brown, get the 4.0 rules and advanced setup charts downloaded and print if you want and it will tell you what pieces ( all ) that you will need for the whole game.
Can somebody post the advance setup charts. I can’t seem to find them and not seeing them on BGG site. Just the basics.

Thanks SS, I will certainly do that when I buy the game.

This is after turn 4. Germany finally had bad weather. Cost 2 supply tokens to move. But they counter with drawing card that says supply tokens cost only 1 icp for 2 tokens on this turn only. Just planes were grounded do to not being on airbase. Russia at full production at start of turn 4. Missed the Italy total pieces placed on board. I can’t see why Germany can’t take Baku before turn 12. Unless Russia didn’t put enough blockers in the way. Starting turn 5 with snow and germans win the Initiative for the 3rd time in a row and gets to draw card and gets Rommel is back. Germany gets an extra 40icp’s this turn and place pieces in Italy. Well made some mistakes and it will take a few games to get rules down and other stragies. The advance pieces from HBG are awesome. Got loco’s on the way to. I used my gold oil derricks for trains for now.

If Germany takes control of a city territory with a icp value, Germany gets to put that icp value towards there production right? You need 1 supply token to move in combat and 1 supply token to move in non combat correct? SS aus!

Thanks SS for showing this picture. It looks like a cool game. Have you bought any of the other Maps that HBG has?

I have there HBG global 39 map in 3’ x 6’ and 4’ x 8’. Also have another 39 global map in 4’ x 8’ and 3 or 4 of IL’s maps in 3’ x 6’.

Are you going to get Midway, Okinawa or the Invasion of Italy Maps as well?
-
Probably not. Unless they get some great reviews. To busy with other games right now and hopin to get couple custom tables built by the summer. One 4 x 8 table to play any of the 3 global 39 games and a 3 x 6’ table for annv., 42 games.
-
That is cool. I was just curious if anyone has tried them. :-D
-
Got my train loco’s in from a game called New England Railways. Had 72 train loco’s in game. So now I can use them in any of my games and this game.

Update after turn 7. Germany made a big push in Lenningrad and just now in front of Moscow. Looks tough for Germany because they need to get troops from Lenningrad over to Moscow. What I’ve seen so far is that the trains and supplies are the most important to get to the fronts as fast as possible. Then you have to send just the right amount of troops to Lenningrad ( and take by turn 7, help alot ) so you don’t waste any troops there and get them heading towards Moscow. Got to split the front 2 ways and get it right. Just got to play more.
Keep the minors moving towards Stalingrad and Baku and some German troops to.
For combat casulity’s, Germany rolled quite a few high die rolls to lose some strong pieces.
Murphy’s law adds a nice little twist to game that might help either country at the right moment.
Best to 2 man game so far for me.
Trying to load map but now its telling me its to big.
