Everything seems like AA42 is the Revised map, but with different art/graphics, and most of the rules from AA50.
… and the sculpts - as far as they are identifiable - seem to be similar - if not the same - to those of AA50.

They are not the same. Most of the pieces are represented by the same model, but they are new sculpts of them.
USA, Uk and Russia still share the same old artillery sculpt.
And Russia got new sculpts of destroyer, cruiser and battleship, pieces that will never be used.

Hi Krieg. Are they the same size ?
More or less. I haven’t received my copy of the game yet, so I can only go by photos of them that I’ve seen.
They look exactly the same pieces as AA50 except German CA, Soviet BB, US fighter, and 1-2 others.
My god i wish they redid the German 88. Its too skinny. I would prefer the square shield added to give it less toothpick feel.
