Pulling all of the Italian pieces for quality issues. Going to do a re-design and re-test. I have a feeling the filament being used is not the best either (our lighter brown pieces came out phenomenal, but the “wrong” color).
-
Oh and sorry for slagging your 3D printed pieces earlier. It thru me for a loop because all of a sudden you just appeared with 20 sculpts and they were all over the place in terms of type and nation. I get your direction now.

@IWillNeverGrowUp yeah there is something going on they are definitely not as good as the others

Yup. I’m about 80% sure it’s this particular brand and/or color of filament. I’m doing some trouble shooting to see where it’s gone wrong on those.
-
@IWillNeverGrowUp well it cant X and Y wobble if your other prints work out as clean. Keep up the great work cheers

ITALIAN PIECES UPDATE:
Alright, it’s 100% the dark brown filament. I ran a series of test prints with that and another, lighter brown, using the exact same settings and file and the lighter brown works.
It’s not the color I want as it doesn’t match (even relatively close) OOB pieces, but it works. I’m going to get a different brand on Monday to try out and see if I can’t get closer to the right brown.
Color sample that works;
versus the color I wanted;

@IWillNeverGrowUp they look good. I’m not fussed on the colour I paint mine

Understood, but not all do. I’m going to go ahead and produce some in this other brown over the weekend though while I await the new filament.

For now, just the following;
- German Sturmpanzer SPG (Dark Grey)
- German Tiger I (Dark Grey)
- Russian SU-76 SPG (Red Brown)
- French Hotchkiss H39 Cavalry Tank (Blue)
- French Somua S35 Cavalry Tank (Blue)
- US M3A1 Halftrack (Olive)
The SU-76 should be in our shop by the weekend.
I’ve been working on some others as well but having some detailing issues when it comes time to print them (they look amazing as a rendered file, but only so-so when printed because of too much detail or tiny bits that don’t print correctly).
Also working on some naval pieces at the moment.

@IWillNeverGrowUp awesome thanks fuelling my addiction

Can you come up with replacement artillery. As far as the OOB Artillery, they suck and having both light and heavy Artillery types would be great. Also, Flak Towers are needed…nobody does those. Battlecruisers would be nice.

I’ve been working on trying to do some artillery. So far they are all too flimsy for FDM 3D Printing. Tough to strike that balance between looking right and being strong enough.

The key is to find a bulky looking one that doesn’t have flimsy thin areas that may create plastic flashing situations

Re-modelling a few of the units during this Canadian Thanksgiving long weekend by increasing barrel diameters on some of the more fragile pieces and working on some of the models that just will not print properly with some of the odd details (we went a little overboard with some details and have to scale back in order to print them at 1:285 scale).
Right now we’re at or over capacity as far as keeping up with demand (even with the printers we have running near 24/7). It doesn’t help that I had to throw out nearly everything that was printed on Thursday and Friday. I think the sudden weather changes caused some print issues that needed to be dealt with.
Amazon Prime day is coming though so there may be some increased capacity in the near future and we can get further models out in shorter time!

For artillery and the likes the issue is thin areas (such as barrels and mounts) that break at this scale with little to no effort, even trying to get them off the print bed.

New printer has arrived and is running!
We are low on a lot of pieces right now but give it to the end of next week and everything should be back with 3 printers going 24/7. -
Updated sculpts:
We’ve improved a few of the sculpts with long thin barrels (breakage issues); SU76, SU85, IS2, Panther, Elefant, E100.Everything back in stock!
Still working on some new sculpts, including WW1.

Just realized I said KV1 when I was talking about the SU85 barrels being fixed! Oops.
