The Official "Looking for AA50 Opponents" Thread

  • Still looking for an opponent. I would prefer a '41 scenario with NO’s, but I’m flexible on the set up. I mainly want to work through the mechanics of play on this forum and try out some opening strategies.

    Thanks in advance.

  • @tcnance:

looking for opponent, 41 version, NO and tech, battlemap, i want to play the allies for a change

Would you mind playing w/o tech??  If you want to be allies, thats fine- 41 version OK.
I assume you can use the Battlemap and dice roller right??

I’ll play you.  41-version, NOs- yes, but no tech.  You want Allies or Axis?  Still wanna go??

I only got a game in using the battlemap myself, but I am a long time AA player- Classic (when I was a kid) Revised, Europe, Pacific etc. and I’ve played AA50 about 7 times FTF (face-to-face games) with some good tourney players.

    @Danger:

I’ve gotten to play by e-mail once before but I’ve never played on a forum so I’m a newb at this, but I’m looking to get thrown in the deep end and give it a try.  I’m looking for an AA50 41’ game with NO’s and Tech’s and someone willing to show me how its done.

    Thanks,
    DM

I’ll help you out. Do you have Abattlemap yet?

  • Looking for someone to show me how the axis can win in 41. Obviously I will be playing the allies. Don’t care if there are techs or not. NO’s are a must I would think but I’m up for anything. Let me know if you are up to the challenge.

  • Haven’t connected with anyone yet. Still looking for a game of '41 w/NO’s. I prefer no tech, but could go either way.

Where’s Funcioneta when you need him to tell you that the Axis are unstoppable in 41’?

I just can’t resist a challenge like that. I’m getting tired of being stuck playing the Allies, anyway.

Ok. Do you prefer Axis or Allies? Let me know and I’ll start the thread.

Have you also familiarized yourself with the in-house dice roller?

I’ve never done this on the forum before so the in-house dice roller is new to me, and as far as being the axis or allies I’ll do either one so we can make it random if you do not have a preference

    No problem.

There are 2 separate dice rollers on this forum.

One is strictly for rolling Axis and allies d6 and it will automatically calculate the number of hits you achieve. So, for example, you want to roll for 2 inf, 1 bmb, then you would do this:

    :bbb 2@1, 1@4:

This represents 2 infantry rolling at 1 (2@1) and 1 bomber rolling at 4 (1@4) and you must always separate the different dice rolls with a comma and then a space.  However, instead of typing the “bbb” you would type “aaa” for the dice roller to actually roll the dice.

    And it looks like this:

    DiceRolls: 2@1, 1@4; Total Hits: 12@1,: (4, 2)1@4: (3)

The second one is simply a random number generator. It is used like this:

    :mice 2d17:

This represents 2 rolls of a number between 1 and 17. Again, instead of “mice”, you would type “dice” to have it work.

    And it looks like this:

    DiceRolling 2d17:
    (4, 5)

I’ll let you be the Axis. That way you can practice the dice roller and I’ll help you out with your turn if you need it. If you need help with the format we use for the thread title, let me know, but you really can’t go wrong if you copy the style of one of the other threads.

  • sounds easy enough, I can start whenever.

  • I’m looking for an opponent in my first online game of AA50 (I’m a very experienced AA board game player).  Would like to play with NOs, would prefer no tech but could go either way, 1941 setup, 12 or 15 VC.  Either side works for me.

OK. Create the new thread in the “play boardgames” board and start germany’s turn whenever you are ready.

  • I’m looking for someone to maybe tutor me in AA50, and maybe Battlemap as well, as I just downloaded the program and would like to get in on the action. If anyone would like to instruct a noob, please let me know.
