Why is it interesting you got a damaged package from Amazon?
Can you combine Pacific 2nd edition and Europe 1st edition to play the Global edition?

Welcome to the forum, Jerry.
Yes, you can combine either Pacific 1940 edition with either Europe 1940 edition.
(You can’t combine it with the Europe edition published in 1999, though.)
HTH :-)
Yes, but you should get E40 2nd Edition if you can for the shiny new sculpts!
And note that there are a few non-critical differences between the two editions of the maps. The difference with the most potential impact from a practical point of view is that the first edition lacks an income-tracking strip at the top.
Plus I believe the 1st edition has the universal AA gun while 2nd edition has the unique AA guns per each nation.

And the first-edition universal gun in question is a cardboard marker, not a sculpt.

I wouldn’t know, I don’t have 1st edition, I just assumed it used those white universal looking guns that can’t be destroyed, only captured.
The trickiest thing with the AAs is that they are now country specific and do not necessarily belong to the nation that controls the containing territory, so you might need to mark it somehow. You can also try to by the missing pieces online.

I think you would need to decide whether you want to play 1st or 2nd ed rules. You’ll need to do a few work arounds, such as putting nation markers under AA Guns but sounds completely doable.
