Thanks Krieghund,
I wanted to know the history/background on this ruling.
Thanks,
This game IS fun on a saturdayevening! :-D
That was sad…
Well, I have identified several folks I would prefer to not socialize with as a result of that video…

Take it easy on them, Switch. You never heard the saying ‘you shouldn’t mock the afflicted’? LOL
With a bit of luck their 2 brain cells will rub together and they’ll spontaneously combust! :|
Yeah, take it easy on them. After all, it is “the most complicated game, and frustrating game, ever played”. It has 39 pages of rules!

yeah… what’s on TV?

Three words.
Dungeons and Dragons.
Their heads explode! lol.
Funny, Bunnies, exactly what my husband just said!
Anyway, I now know who watches professional sports on Television. :P

I watch pro wrestling and American football on television.
Although I guess the former isn’t so much a “sport” as entertainment.
Unbelieveable… “Access and allies” What a couple of tools, laying the stuff out and making that video took longer than reading the rules…
Yes, but reading them is only half the battle!
What a couple of tools, laying the stuff out and making that video took longer than reading the rules…
OMFG this is totally true. Freeking chimps buy it in the bookstore, then lay everything out and realize that it does not have a little ‘mini- me’ dude who pops out of the box and explains the rules…… you mean we have to read rules to play a boardgame??? what jugheads.
I think they cheated in school and did book reports from watching the movie version of the book.
Now that’s Irony! Buy a game at a book store and then complain because you have to read and comprehend 39 whole pages… LMAO
Somebody should make a ‘counter’ video poking fun at them, and explaining the rules for other who may be infected by that opinion.
Is it really sporting to make fun of adults who can’t seem to comprehend a game for 12-year-olds and up?
Yes it is.
Is it really sporting to make fun of adults who can’t seem to comprehend a game for 12-year-olds and up?
yes because people who know nothing about it will use their impression as a true indication of what the game could be …. and never try it. We have to set them right to indicate this is a false conclusion or the people who are just getting into the game will pass right on by. Its like bad publicity for games.
somebody should film a game session and re-enact the monologue to make them look like idiots and post it.
Is it really sporting to make fun of adults who can’t seem to comprehend a game for 12-year-olds and up?
No, no it isn’t.
It isn’t sporting to make fun of the mentally retarded. Nor is it sporting to make fun of those that lack taste. A lot of things aren’t sporting these days.
Luckily for me, I am not a sportsman.

It isn’t “like” bad publicity for games. It IS bad publicity for games.

snort!
Maybe THAT is why I find it so ridiculous…
I am an OLD SCHOOL AD&D player… First Edition, with the 2nd Ed non-weapon prof’s added.
That means my rule set is 14 hardbound books, 100 issues of Dragon Magazine, and a plethora of house rule interpretations that seek to deal with such issues as movement and areas of effect on hex grid, as well as determining just how many temporary magical effects are impacted by a single Dispel Magic…
Not counting my lead figures, my “travel” AD&D kit weighs 68 pounds… My main set is one entire book case.
A&A is child’s play by comparison.
So I stop by Barnes and Noble today, and sure enough there is AAR on a table for $45.
(As low as $25 on EBay btw http://cgi.ebay.com/AXIS-ALLIES-by-AVALON-HILL-HASBRO-REVISED-ED-WWII_W0QQitemZ130218830260QQihZ003QQcategoryZ158731QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem)
Anyway, I discovered the confusion. It was sitting next to such jems as “Hello Kitty: Shopping Spree” I think they just grabbed the wrong game….
