@Private-Panic Ha, I knew you would attack the Italian fleet, so I reinforced it with my French cruiser (instead of gambling on taking out the Turk CA & tt.) When your sub hit on round 1, I was sure it was a wasted effort to save Italian fleet. But then, the Italians managed to miss fewer times than the Austrians. So, the loss of the French cruiser was not in vain.

@simon-tressel so you get Germany . Hooray!
-
@Witt @simon-tressel Simon should be allowed to choose for himself. Germany is a very complicated power to play, with many units all over the globe. France/Serbia with more limited scope of operations would be easier for a newbie,. But that would leave me with Germany. We’ve never had a situation like this before regarding selecting powers. If Simon as G facing Elrood and me as F and UK, it would be unfair. G’s allies could advise, but the sheer number of moves and battles on G1 alone is staggering.
What would you choose @simon-tressel Germany or France.Serbia? -
I am happy enough to play Germany. It will likely be different from what you’re all used to (being my first time) and maybe not optimized. But I’m excited to try some things out!
-
Could someone else please start the forum post though? I don’t want to put it in the wrong spot or something. How do you all manage the emails in TripleA for the PBF MARTI section? Just one email for each side or?
-
@dawgoneit Do you want to continue getting the marti dice?
@simon-tressel 2 players get the marti dice emails. Witt always gets them. Sometimes 2 players from the same side, it doesn’t matter to us.
See the arrows on the lower right corner of the screen, they let you go to the beginning of the thread postings or the most recent. You can see what the prior G player did on G1 by looking at the history posted on the forum, if the player chose to do so, or else, open the prior game and in the pull down menu in upper left hand corner go to history. -
@simon-tressel Do you playtesting in local mode but always use Play by Mail for your actual game turn and save it in PBEM so that the email addresses for Marti dice are already filled in.
-
Team game 17 is on “Play Online” subheading “team games” #41573
We still need a second person to accept the marti dice emails

@simon-tressel If you think Germany might be too much for starters. I would offer you to swap with me (UK). I do not really care either way, and it might be good not to start with the most crucial power at first time playing online.
-
@Elrood UK is just as complex, critical and global as Germany. UK is critical to saving Paris and the primary power against Turks taking Cairo and containing Turks in Mideast and G taking central Africa. More than any other power, UK must make decisions on allocating builds and existing forces on a widely scattered global stage. USA gets to leisurely help out, while UK’s decisions are critical from the start.
-
@FMErwinRommel UK is more prone to reacting according to how Centrals play, while Germany must seize the initiative and come up with a win strategy.
-
@Elrood That’s somewhat true, but G is mostly a one-trick pony, take Paris. While the Centrals have won many, but not most of our games without G taking Paris, as the other players and their strategies and abilities took center stage.
