    The dice stats presented by TripleA seem off to be. Yes the UK Bomber technically missed the German Transport several times before getting the kill, but at the end of the day the result was that UK won and the Bomber lived. In my mind, that means UK should be “+” on the exchange.

    Basically, what I’m saying is that rounds where both sides scored 0 hits should be discounted.


  • @VictoryFirst Additionally, I’ve also noticed that when large groups of units attack a small force, if the attacker scores an overwhelming number of hits (i.e. 4 attackers Vs. 2 defenders score 4/4 hits), the result is recorded as a large-scale luck “+” for the attackers, even though said luck did not matter. Basically, what I’m saying is that when trying to model these things, some care should be given to “when” the luck happened. Not all “Germany +6.50” scenarios are equivalent to one another.

  • @VictoryFirst Between the games with you + the games with TGC I am good to concede that my plan with the Fighters did not work (or at least, it has significant counterplay that can defeat mine as long as Germany deviates from the script of “winning on turn 6”)

    We can do TGC’s balance suggestion. Under that alternate setup I am probably going to use a more “normal” plan as Allies as I do not feel Germany will have the overwhelming advantage they currently enjoy. We will see how it goes.

    Yes, I think OOB Europe is imbalanced in many ways. After the right strategy became apparent, so far I have only lost 1 game as Germany with OOB rules out of 13 games in total, and that loss was mainly caused by a combination of surprise (my opponent put 4 infantry in Bessarabia and I had never faced that bid before) and terrible dice.

    Let’s play with the balance. Right now I am testing with Ragnell and TGC with an additional German infantry removed from Romania, not sure if you have tried that out before but it seems to have a positive effect on the balance.
