  • No advance notice of judgment necessary because you are up by 1,000 TUV. I can’t imagine a comeback from that unless the board is extremely lopsided and the Axis might somehow get the victory cities, but the whole bracket is waiting.

    OK, since I wrote this I thought I’d better look again.

    I would normally never give any commentary on someone else’s playoff game, but given the circumstances, 1 week to play,

    Japan actually is a monster but needs to make a move on Sydney or Hawaii for the Axis to win.

    After the Japan move, there is only 1 transport and 3 carriers in the Pacific. While the Allied defense is not huge, they have too much time and money to ever allow Japan to even think about taking one of the cities. Because Europe is done for, surely badger will easily build up the defenses needed.
    Even if Japan were to take the win, it would take a long time to get there.
    Another consideration is that it looks rather likely that Berlin will fall before too long, and that makes Japan get 7 cities.

    On a positive note, that is a great Japanese empire there, and you have 1 week to try and make something happen.

    I apologize if you didn’t like me commenting on overall strategy, but I think it’s obvious and you both know what’s going on there.

    You may take all the time you want to finish this interesting game, but badger needs to start playing cat soon, that is the point of my invasion here.

  • Different perspectives are good, especially on something which hasn’t had fresh eyes on it for a while. Martin had a good shot at winning with Japan, but got some bad dice in round 13 in a naval battle off the coast of Queensland. I do have a significant material advantage, but had been too focused on Europe and not enough on the Pacific.

    As I mentioned below, the chances are high that FlyingBadger will win. I was first considering to have FlyingBadger move forward in the Playoffs but continue playing this game for the league. But in the end, it is as it is. And if the Axis did not manage by round 15 to take Russia, Persia, or Australia, something is going awfully wrong. And as Gamerman said, once Berlin has fallen, Japan needs one additional Victory City, and this is even less likely to be accomplished, ,as it will be Japan against the whole world.

  • Sorry, couple of edits, was rushing to get this done. Meant to move the US CV to the channel to receive the 2 new fighters, but shift clicked the whole lot into the Med by mistake. As alsways, your choice whether to accept the edit.

    Also, thought I had forgotten to pck up some UK infantry on a transport, but it was fine so undid that edit.
