Global 1943 Expansion, Revised

The Global 1943 Expansion will be part of the The 4th Northern Europe Axis & Allies Wiking-Con which will be held in Denmark in Early 2024.

The next Global 1943 game is scheduled to January 2024.

In the Early 1943 Soviet Set Up, the Soviet 1st and 2nd Army Groups are organized this way:

• Soviet 1st Army Group: 10 Infantry units, 1st Tank Army, 3rd Soviet Army Corps
• Soviet 2nd Army Group: 5 Infantry units, 5 Artillery units, 2nd Tank Army, 2nd Soviet Army Corps

A new set of pictures with the entire Global 1943 SetUp will replace the recent pictures at pg. 1 in this thread.

The reason for the new pictures is in order to show the Army Group Markers (roundels) instead of the “obsolete” Army Group Flags - to avoid confusion in the SetUp when the SetUp Pictures are compared to the SetUp Charts.

We expect to release these pictures in Early 2024.

Concerning Japanese Kamikaze Strikes:

Japan has not used any Kamikaze Tokens when the game begins in Early 1943.

This is unfortunately not mentioned in the rulebook, even if it seems obvious since Japan controls all islands/sea zones that are eligible for Kamikaze Strikes in Early 1943.

For the Global 1943 Expansion the pictures that are available at pg 1 in this thread are not updated according to the Revised SetUp Charts.

We expect to update the Revised SetUp Pictures in February 2024.

For the Global 1943 Expansion, we are working on the SetUp to include the Flak Tower rule (see thread: Flak Tower).

We expect to be able to release this SetUp in Late 2024, after play testing.

Printing Error:

We have discovered 3 printing errors in the Japanese Set Up:

1. Hainan is not mentioned in the Japanese Set Up. Hainan must have an IPC value of “1” - and a Japanese control marker.

2. Palau Island does not need a Japanese control marker… the number (1) described in the column should be placed in the column for the IPC value instead. Palau Island must have an IPC Value Marker at “1”.

3. Kiangsi is not mentioned in the Japanese Set Up. Kiangsi is Japanese controlled from game start (Early 1943).

We naturally apporlogize for those shortcomings.

The revised pictures for Global 1943 Expansion, Revised have now been added.

Please note the German Flak Tower unit in Berlin (Germany).

The next Axis & Allies Global 1943 game played by Dark Knight and The Captain is scheduled to start on Friday 12th April until Sunday 14th April

Dark Knight and The Captain will draw lots to decide who is going to play the Axis.

The Game Report will be announced at the Game Report thread shortly after the Global 1943 game has ended.

This Global 1943 game will mark the end of the 2023-2024 Axis & Allies Wiking-Con Season.

The German U-Boat Bunker will be a permanent part of the German Set Up for Global 1943.
