    @dawgoneit:

    hey every buddy,
sorry for the long delay. had 2 surgeries and had problems. please forgive me.
if any body would like to continue a game or start over just let me no.
again sorry for the long delay
    Wayne

Welcome back! Hope you are well!

I’d rather start over as I diced bad, but since it was just turn 1, I feel that would be unfair, so good luck!

So glad you’re back, Wayne!!  Alive and Kickin’  8-)

I will assume that all of your tourney games can pick up where they left off, so best of luck in those continuations.  We can bump those threads up if needed, just let us know.

  • if you could please bump the games I haven’t found.
    thank you kindly

    Captain Walker:

After reviewing your comments on Domination 1914: No Man’s Land, it seems to me that the game is functioning properly when I load it.  Did you notice that conscripts are supportable, but start with a 0 attack base (not 1)?  So, if you send a conscript, artillery, and cavalry into a battle, it will upgrade the conscript from 0 to 1 for attack, showing attack dice of 1 + 1 + 2 (4 for the 3 units).

Please check this for me and let me know what you find!  I don’t want to use any flawed game – however, this game looks great, and perhaps the recognition of artillery support is just perception.

Let me know, and thanks for checking!

Let me check again…I thought cavalry was supportable also, but I didn’t get that either the time I played against the AI.

  • '23 '21 '20 '19 '17 '16 '15 '13

It seems to be ok now…must have been the conscript thing that had me confused.

  • '20 '16 '15 '14

Very good – the map really looks like fun imho.

Say, question for Whackamatt and dawgoneit – did you guys ever start your Total Ancient War game?  That whole bracket is waiting for a result, and I didn’t see a link (but that could be due to me being old lol).

  • '20 '16 '15 '14

For Whack and dawg:  The same question goes for Napoleonic Empires.  :)

  • '20 '16 '15 '14

redrum and Bacala :  Have you started your Lord of the Rings game?

  • TripleA

Not yet but I’m aware. We have NWO and TRS going so was kind of focusing on trying to close one of those out first.

That’s cool, no problem, just perfecting my stalking skills now that tax season is over.  :-D

Finally, captain walker and dawg:  have you started your TRS game yet?

  • Bloody Hell!
I wish I had signed up for another game now. I  finished my one game two months ago. I thought playing 8 would prove too many.

Next Tournament, perhaps you should only have 8 per game. Some golf the games had 9 players  and may have messed things up a bit.

Well, I kind of tried to say how games would not all be concurrent due to byes and so forth.  :)

And, the more games you win, the more you wait for the loser’s bracket games to finish.  Since you are our Napoleonic Ace, of course you are waiting!

That’s why I didn’t limit brackets to 8 or 16 – the byes help balance out the number of games.  I’m in all 8 brackets currently but only have 4 active games, which makes playing in more brackets manageable.

  • I have been following. I had no idea that no one would be playing 8 at once. I could have played a second, but am trying to be busy at home with my wife and baby. I was being good, fighting my inner nature!
Glad you are happy with things.

I think one of the challenges is going to be the duration of the tournament given those pauses. I have a feeling we might not even finish all 8 brackets in 2016 at the rate we are going!

This is probably true for some of the brackets.  However, I’m not sure that will affect when we can start the next tournament.  Here is why.  The plan (ideally) will be to start the next tournament when we are down to the “final four” in each bracket.  The final four is the last two in the winner’s bracket and the last two in the loser’s bracket being the final players left (there of course could be less than this).  Those 4 will be seeded into the top four seeds in that bracket for the next tournament, meaning they will be the most likely to get a first round bye.  This first round bye allows them to finish up the prior tournament without having too many games at once.  Does that part make sense?  And, those players finishing up the prior tournament will have some leeway in the new tournament anyway, so that the game burden should never be an issue.

I used to play correspondence chess in the 80’s and 90’s, and each year had a championship.  So, in that case, with three rounds at about 2 years per round, there were usually 6 championships going on at once (it was the U.S. Open, called The Golden Knights).  :-o  At one point I had about 65 games going – that’s a few too many lol.

For us, we will be just finishing up the prior tournament, getting more players in to the next one (hopefully!).  The next one will also have two weeks between each bracket starting to give more time there.  I’m thinking there will be at least 9 months between tourney start dates (and if we get more than 24 to play, close to a year for each).

  • Thank you for the time to explain all that.
I can only hope you are a much better typist than me!

  • '23 '21 '20 '19 '17 '16 '15 '13

No, we haven’t started TRS…I didn’t even know I was up again in that one.
I’ll say something about it to Wayne…I’m sure we can get started right away.

  • '23 '21 '20 '19 '17 '16 '15 '13

I just checked the bracket…I’m axis again. I’ll get it started soon.
I’ve played axis in all of my tournament games…is there something that could be done in the next tournament to prevent a player from always playing the same side?

  • TripleA

@captain_walker - Bids are really the only good solution to that. For many of these maps that may help even out sides a little as well though I think Dizz was against bids at least for this first tournament. Maybe something to consider in future ones.
