Concerning design and layout with customized game boards, we made a hand-made drawing - gave it to a professional company - made a great deal - and mass produced the game boards to reduce costs.

DM making a comeback
-
Over a year ago i had made a start on the russian supplement set and due to circumstances had to drop everything and deal with real life. During my absence here i ordered the japanese supplement set and after looking at hbg the other day i noticed there was an expansion set as well. I have just recently received the uk supplement set, so i really have a lot of catching up to do. Not to mention i still have fmg’s italians as well. I will never run out of pieces to paint, just finding the time…. :-D
-
Due to my location, the australian bush, my man cave is not really all that secure, i have been expecting it but was still shocked , sitting down painting away and out of the corner of my eye i see something squirming along at my feet, a quick look confirms my fears,it’s a bloody snake. So, the mancave has been abandoned for now will pluck up the courage to go back in a few days and make a whole lot of noise. A few pics of my current progress.
-
-
Wow, you have been busy, and I guess the snake has too! I hope you get in there soon enough. Can’t wait too see your final product.
Cheers! :-)

Great stuff DM keep up the good work
-
Haha the man cave has been taken over by enemy forces! Uh oh.
Are you painting the wooden decks straight onto the primer, or is that a base coat of light gray that’s on top of the primer, and then the wooden decks?
-
Yes, the mancave is enemy occupied :-o
Yes, painting the wooden deck over the base gray, going to try something a little different this time and see what i come up with, but it may be a while till i seek out the enemy force  -
So i ventured in to the mancave today, made some noise and moved stuff around, still not game to sit down for long, set up the 1942 2nd edition to see what it looks like, first time i opened the box :-D Gee its small….
There are lots of threads here about specialized war rooms, well i dont have that, it is supposed to be a games room/ mancave when not ocuppied by an enemy force. Did i mention that i hate snakes…
A few pics of my room

So i have too set up my games on the slot car track, i actualy laid out the track so i can play in the middle.
-
Did i mention that i love planes :-D
My other hobby is remote control planes and yes i do use the slot cars as well, good when the boys come in to play
-
Wow DM, that is a nice collection of planes. You probably have a lot of land to fly those planes, I bet?
Nice track and car selection, as well. :-)
-
Thanks John, that is only about half the cars in the pic.
My favorite plane used to be the Corsair until i misjudged the distance between me and a tree, damn thing jumped into my flight path. I will get around to rebuilding it sometime….
My new favorite is one that i built from scratch after downloading the plans, is a bit rough for my first try but is so satisfying to see something that you built take flight….
-
Wow, you built that? That is impressive.
How did it fly?
Did it fly smooth?
I remember when my family was struggling, when I was a child, and Dad bought us a remote controlled plane in the 1970’s. We took it out the first day, and he hit a tree with it.
We were so upset, because it was a lot of money back then, and I no it took several pay checks to buy that plane. that was the only time my family ever owned one.
I told myself, if I ever buy one, I would have to join a group of experts to teach me how to fly one.
That is a cool hobby your into. thanks for sharing! :-D

My first flight wasn’t real good, the plans said it was ok to just use elevons( a mixture of ailerons and elevator all in one) but i found i didn’t have much control. The battery gave out without warning and i landed in a tree, luckily i only broke one of the tail rudders and cracked the wing. Bit of glue and some ailerons and it flies really well. Short video here if you want to see.

No sign of the snake, but i have moved my workstation out for the time being. Have been busy trying to get a few things done, i have 3 different approaches to these current works. Some good some not so good, will try again with some. First up, i painted these a dark grey then dry brushed a lighter grey
-
Next, these ones just the normal paint job then gave them a brown wash.
-
Then we have these with a black wash.
-
Now the carriers, i tried painting a few and also tried the sticker approach, not happy with any of the results actually so, will go back over these at a later date.
