• I caught “The Monuments Men” on Saturday and for anybody going thinking they’ll be seeing “Kelley’s Heroes” meets “Ocean’s Eleven” is not going to the correct movie. It was still enjoyable but it is a much quieter more bio-pic style movie. But it isn’t an action movie.

Actually, I would say that is an excellent description of what it looks like, from commercials anyhow… Not that I expected it to be as humorous as either of those two. But I have not seen it, so I appreciate the analysis.

On another note, I have heard multiple people tell me that The Lego Movie is one of the the best movies they have ever seen. I am really looking forward to seeing it myself. Possibilities seem endless in a movie like that, especially considering the depth of characters and settings in the collective consciousness of all people who have ever seriously gotten into Legos. Now if they can only get permission to include Star Wars characters in the next movie…

––I’ve seen "Monument’s Men twice so far. I VERY MUCH enjoyed it both times and hope to see it again. It’s not your typical Action/War movie,….but has a good storyline, great writing, and acting. All of the scenes are quite realistic in their accuracy and ww2 flavor. Great acting!, some wonderful "funnies and some serious scenes, too. I read the book a year or so ago and was very pleased with the movie.
----This movie will send you home with a “Good Feeling” about what was actually tried and accomplished. I recommend everyone go and SEE THIS MOVIE!

  • Robocop sucked. Nothing but people flying in the air shooting machine guns like idiots. It was kinda like an Ironman ripoff using many cliche action movie plot sequences that appeal to boys 14-25.

I predict based on this schlock, that Keaton’s character comes back in part two ( they always try these stunts) and they rebuild him into a robocop, just like how they added more robots in Ironman.

If you got nothing to do and want to waste time, don’t see it. Doing nothing is a better use of your time.

Oh and the snake of the plane guy was in full effect. Somebody must have watched all his " Im tired of this *** and im gonna fight" schtick and just let him improv with no script.

Pretty scathing review, I was on the fence about it but now I’ll wait for it to be on cable. The one positive of the remake is the attention its giving to the original, an 80s classic.

From someone who lived and loved everything the 80’s had to offer on the silver screen, I don’t understand how people can screw up the retelling of a great movie by making it bad. Has there been a good remake of an 80’s movie in the past decade?

  • No and that’s why “remakes” are basically:  " I have no new ideas because creative plots are not in my wheelhouse, i shall therefore copy old 80’s movie concepts that were marginally successful…"

They should not be done, only original ideas, not rehash TV shows, not rehash old comic book ideas that were sold for .10 cents, etc.

Old 80’s culture should only be spoofed in comedy IMO

Spoofed in comedy but remembered with nostalgia.

  • Thank you for the critics on Robocop IL, will now try to rather aim on Captain America II with my son.
If it’s not worth it to be seen in the theatres, I also will wait untill it is out on dvd…

  • Just look at how they betray their own concept…now this Avenger is set in modern times…ageless i guess.

Captain America was always during WW2 timeframe. Some jackass who blogs selfie’s probably told them: "hey we are not hitting the demographic of young males 13-28 because WW2 themed movies only appeal to old white men, unless of course Ben afflec is willing to get naked.

Producer says: Can we get Ben naked in this… how bout a butt scene? Of Cuda Jr. could be casted and shoot down another 500 Japanese airplanes singlehandedly? Somebody would see that right?

Jackass says: the concept is not working, Ben’s butt is starting to sag, so lets get some guy who can’t act out of a paper bag and go cheap with this movie.

Producer: OK let’s try not to repeat the first Incredible Hulk movie that almost destroyed the Hulk franchise. Get us some Ass and start filming… is Kim available to do a Taco Bell tie in for Avenger? We can show her ass like those Carl’s Jr. commercials. Look into it.

Are Huster doing a Robocop parody?

    Probably have better acting.

  • THE LEGO MOVIE……
    IS AWESOME!!!

  • Pompeii sucked. Gladiator and Titanic retread with cheesy Taco Bell CGI grafics and slock acting.  What a waste of time with these formalistic plots.

Why even bother going to see it? I could have told you that just from watching the commercials…

  • I like disaster movies and was figuring it had an original plot. It was a disaster but had no original ideas.
