He just got mad because he had a low turnout and wanted to blame it on somebody. That’s his business.

“GENCON” didn’t declare war on anything except perhaps it’s really 3 days of gaming, not 4.

Take the drama to the trash can.

Garg apprantly forgot that he started the personal attacks on people when he was commentating on the rules for the tournament.  How in the world did you get a DoW on online gamers from anything smo said?  Stop trolling man.

I didn’t see anything there declaring war on online players.

Certainly no DOW out there. Not even the term “socialist” shocks me, but then again I am from Europe and I have a feeling that this term is used very liberally in the US (by non-liberals only, of course ;) ).

Just boring justifications on all sides. Surely this stuff should better be ignored, no? If you go there, you play by their rules. If you take part in a Gargantuan tournament, you play by his.

That’s not my problem.  Read my words again carefully.  And the first stone was cast when it was suggested, AA players weren’t competent enough to caluclate NO’s at the end of their turn, or that they can’t be trusted to use tech or play the 41 setup.

How did you interperet any of that as an attack on the people?  Are you seriously assuming that all brand new players know all the NO’s for every country and knows how every single tech works and how to roll with them?  Because a significant amount of people who go to gaming conventions are people who walk around and try out new games.  So it is logical that for some tournament hosters might want to make things as simple as possible so that new players are less than intimidated and that the game runs faster.
