Reprinting Pacific

pacific 40 and europe 40 to be given 2nd edition treatment in september of this year!!

Well, there’s that weird thing with Western US, then there’s SZ6, then there’s Honolulu on the wrong island.

The map has 2 Ipc values on it. I imagine the “50” will be removed in the reprint

It doesn’t bother you that it’s incorrect?  In neither aap40 or aag40 is wus worth 50 ipcs.

In Pacific stand alone it is worth 50 when at war with Japan.

Obviously the Anti-Aircraft Artillery for each nation are auto-includes.

Tiger tanks for the Germans?

I don’t think german or the russians will get new pieces in the reprinting of the pacific game sorry. But a new Japanese tank or fighter would be nice. Bring back the Wildcat would also be cool.

I guess since Europe 40 will be reprinted with this, or at least around the same time as this, I’m already thinking about the sculpt implications for Global 40, given the new pieces we’ve seen in recent releases.

I guess since Europe 40 will be reprinted with this, or at least around the same time as this, I’m already thinking about the sculpt implications for Global 40, given the new pieces we’ve seen in recent releases.

oh i figured that but I was just being a smartass before someone took you serious. All of the units from '41 would be cool as long as it’s just the nation that’s suppose to have them. No Japanese Tigers No American IS-2s. That’s for Global '40 reprint of course.

Some indications of which new sculpts we can expect have been spoiled by the recently-released sales solicitation flyers.

Pacific 40 2nd ed: ‘Includes new ANZAC miniatures’… How much do you want to bet the new infantry sculpt will be wearing a bloody Tilley hat? What other unique units could they possibly be contemplating releasing? The Sentinel?  :?

Actually, this re-release of 40 has made me start to really question the nature of my interest in the game:

I can’t fool myself into thinking “It’s a new puzzle to solve” or “I should support the continuing development of the series”.

In effect, Wizards is selling me the same game I bought two years ago, except this time the little men are wearing Tilley hats, and driving prettier cars.

(The set-up might be slightly different, but I could just download that online.)

And I’m still wrestling with myself about whether or not to buy it!

• And, perhaps, as a way to better facilitate those occasional ‘Double-Blind’ fog of war matches that I greatly enjoy… Previously, I relied on photocopies of the board taped together, but this is obviously sub-optimal. Okay, now I’ve completely justified it to myself. ;)

There’s nothing irrational about that.  I’ve bought multiple copies of most of the A&A games just for the added sculpts.

A corrected Western USA IPC number.
Honolulu on the correct island.
SZ6 borders corrected.
Kamikaze and Convoy symbols darkened for easier reading.
New Japanese mech infantry sculpts.
Mongolia to have 1 IPC value in two Mongolian spaces.

You forgot to mention a mandatory Manchuria garrison as Russia is not in the game to threaten Japan’s Northern border.

Add in artillery for china and a chinese colored fighter, new artillery and transport for Russia and New Mech Inf. for UK.

I just got AAP40 as a gift, I plan to get AAP/AAE402ED. Thinking about scrapping the parts and repainting AAP40 1.0 minis for additional armies etc. Thought I’d suggest maybe some folks who want Canadians could scrap and paint thier ANZAC and UK pieces for Canadian or French units.

anyone else notice that British Columbia has a British roundel instead of a Canadian roundel now, but the European side still has its Canadian roundels? wtf?
