This isn’t exhaustive but:
Mongolian rules changed a fair bit. minor to major factory in Berlin scramble rules became logical (1st ed: no scramble from coasts e.g. London but unlimited from islands) UK units added to starting units (converted from French units). Don’t know why. Ukraine minor factory addedGlobal 42 Quicker, faster

The official 1942 setup from Larry Harris
ghr2 found this link somewhere and he posted it in the A&A variant forum
But since this is an “official” setup by Larry Harris, I taught it should be posted on the G40 forum. To sum it up… This is a 1942 game played on the 1940 maps. It will be
a much shorter game then the present 1940 Global game.Larry Harris

I haven’t tried it yet, but if any of you can, it would be nice if you posted a small session report to tell us if the game is balance and how long it takes

I was test building this on Triple A and i noticed that GER only has $ 54 in territories. Did they save like $ 1
-
I noticed that and that Italy only had 9.
Should there be an Italian Mech in Tunisia, as there is also a Frog Inf?
Otherwise, I should be starting this in the next week. Am very happy to have a different set up.
-
Sweet!
I already already feeling in the mood to crank out the Global 1940 again; but now I’ll do this one on the map! :)
EDIT: Would someone be willing to post a picture of the map with this new set up? And zoomed in pictures for each major area of the map?
-
Also need to get this on triplea fast, so we can play it on the forums/online!
-
Here is a triple a file depicting the starting set-up (not counting any loaded transports)
-
there might be a few errors, but its pretty close

Could you post a non-triplea link please? Like jpeg? I can’t see it from this computer.

I have taken pictures of the new setup.
I just don’t know how to post them. -

just use the snip it program from your accessories. mac and linux has one too.

This setup changes the turn order though…
-
The Russians can take back 5 tts for a total of 7 IPCs, attacking 17 German units with 36 Russaian ones and the Germans are unable to counter as they have a third of their strength in the West. Looks hard for the Germans, but they can make headway in the Med.
it would be a brave UK player who builds an Evyptian IC.
UK starts without a Med TT too, so cannot threaten much.
It looks interesting and my friend and I shoukd get a few turns in next week. -
Can you edit the turn order in G40?
Or must a new game be created ?
-
Well, over at Harrisgamedesign, Krieghund said this:
Yes, it’s legit, but there are some errors in the post that need to be corrected, most notably the turn order.

Wonder what the actual turn order is then…
-
Turn order is
Russia-Germany-Italy- UK pac & eur - Anzac - Japan - US - China - FranceThe board feels empty for me compared to G40
The German bulge in Russia is getting crushed on Russian turn 1 for sureStill I see lots of interesting decisions. US have ground troops at Guadalcanal and can already strike other Japanese islands
Pictures of the initial setup (sorry for bad quality)
http://s1365.photobucket.com/user/duboismerci/library/?sort=3&page=1 (uploaded each pics 2 time my bad again)Only problem I see is that the setup says 1 italian mech inf in Tunisia but also says 1 french inf in Tunisia
and Shan state is empty, seems kinda odd for me -
So the turn order is normal G40 ?
That is much better :) -
Nothing is concrete about G42 yet.
