What will be wrong with AAAE: 1940?

  • The main thing that will be wrong is it is probably being made by the same people that just screwed up Pacific.

Now I am old enough to remember the first Europe and Pacific editions back in 1999, and the Revised 4th edition in 2004. At that time Mike Selinker was running the show. He wrote articles about the upcoming games a half year before the release. He made sure every player got nation specific pieces, and he made sure there was enough pieces. The first E. and P. maps was looking really good, and the games was playtestet and had a rational Rulebook with no typos. When Mike Selinker left WOTC, then the problems started. Today we must deal with chimps. So what can go wrong ? Well, basically everything. So just buy the games, and dont expect too much.

  • When Mike Selinker left WOTC, then the problems started.

All he did was write those articles. The quality control at WOTC and the management of product development is the problem. Whoever is working this position is just rolling dice and casting spells in the backroom.

Of course AAE40 will only have 6 mech and 6 tac bombers and thin tokens and some typos all over the box and rules.

nothing will change and they will never admit to making any mistakes. That is what they do.

  • Well there is definitely something different now. Either it’s new people or a new attitude. Either way it sucks for us.

  • Official Q&A

Mike Selinker had nothing to do with either the original Europe or Pacific.  He was only involved in Revised and D-Day.

Is not the publication of errata the admission of a mistake?

  • So they admit their mistakes. That’s the first step to recovery.

  • Is not the publication of errata the admission of a mistake?

No it is your commitment to making sence of the rules that somebody else messed up the typesetting that we all thank god for.

WOTC and the people who actually do this work NEVER COME BACK TO THE PICTURE TO ANSWER FOR THEIR DEEDS.

It’s like they are put under witness protection and nobody can reach the culprits and they never are held accountable for all the gaffs.

  • Right, we must gather a possum and hunt those basterds down, man

  • @Razor:

Right, we must gather a possum and hunt those basterds down, man

    I believe you meant possy.

  • lol…i actually like new game. im sure the next one will be awesome. I mean really what are the flaws?

    errr
so I should put the possum back?

  • And I don’t have the heart to tell him…. in AAE40 the possum is only cardboard.

  • Seriously? It’s ‘posse’. I can’t believe I’m stooping to judge a spelling bee between two guys who call themselves ‘Brain Damaged’ and ‘Razor’. Come on guys, get it together… WOTC is never going to take your complaints seriously if you can’t even spell or string together a grammatically correct sentence.

How about, “don’t expect too much, so DON’T just buy the games”……save your money!

  • “what will be wrong with AAAE: 1940?”

As usual, the game will not be finished when it is released. It will be missing units and have incorrect rules and such.

I think Larry Harris should reconsider his business relationships after AAE40, assuming the contracts for this game are already written. But for future games he should make a deal with another company than Wotc.

    Preferably a company w/o chimps….

You had better check before you go correcting people. Possy is an acceptable spelling.I checked before I posted.

  • We should get a Vegas line going on over under for Cal Moore typo’s.

We can introduce parlay for box typo’s, rules typo’s and totals for each category.

I set the starting over/under at 3, which means you can either bet on 4+ or more typo’s or less than 3. Result of three is a push.

Any Box typo line set at -160 or the reverse at +220

Rules typo line set at -80 reverse +280

    3 event parlay is 3:1
    2 event parlay pays 3:2

game must be released by June 2010 for action.

  • I don’t know what all that means, but I am betting against WOTC.

  • However, are there any other major compagnies besides WOTC out there? WOTC is very huge and I wouldn’t be surprised if they pay some good money to Larry, or if Larry needs them to get his game published

  • I don’t know what all that means, but I am betting against WOTC.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sports_betting#Types_of_bets

Then you take -160 which is the favorite you will have the potential for a profit of $100 for every $160 waged, but if you take the dog for every $100 you bet your getting $220 back.

So the favorite costs more and the pay off is less, or if you feel the underdog will pay you can get more money for less invested.  The line can change based on total action.
