Thanks for the game. I think that early fight off the Carolines put Japan off balance although it was still a tactical victory. Only slightly better than a draw strategically.
I disagree with your assessment though.
Caroline was a huge victory for you.
In my opinion, you made two crucial mistakes afterwards.
In the pacific, you spread out your Japanese units too much. You should have either went for the Russian Inf-stack and conquer China more decisively or you could have gone hard for India. You tried to defend on all fronts, instead of being the aggressor on one of them.
In Europe, you lost Moscow out of sight to pursue Egypt. That was a gamble and it would have secured a win for you… but only if it had worked. First you lost quite a bit in Iraq and then you severely lost a coin-flip battle in TRJ.
Instead, you should have killed off Moscow first while sitting in North persia. This way, you’d get the bonus money from Iraq and persia each round, Britain can’t produce there anymore and Russia can’t go too far because your tanks can circle back super quickly.
I definitely agree about taking India. I am normally able to do this J5 after a J1 DOW unless there is some misadventure. I have been questioning my game as Japan lately though because by this time Normally Anzac is pretty secure and I then am having trouble claiming the remaining islands and I am never able to secure the victory in the Pacific.
However, i will change my bid placement slightly. I keep the subs but instead of the fighter, I will take:

This is the first league community shared hot-seat game, where anyone can pop in and play a turn after requesting a turn.
There will be no coordination of moves among allies.
There is a combination of added and subtracted pieces at game start totaling 95 IPC’s because no coordination is a big handicap for the allies. Also, it does not matter much whether the starting set up is perfectly fair.
The main point of this (very different) community game is for everyone to have fun. The main idea is to give players the fun of jumping into a game they have not been playing, and make a move with the scenario given.
