Other than a nod to History, I fail to see any reason to Attack it. Cyprus is UK controlled and costs a NO/NA
All other pro -Netrals for one side or the other seem todo something.
I scanned a few responses, as i know this must have been discussed, but they were part of Cyprus.

I have seen people take it to stop a NO I think but it really isnt worth much of anything to take or hold for that matter. So many other things that have to be done!!

@AAGamer That only applies in BM3/4. In OOB there is no legitimate reason to take Crete.
The only possible crazy thing that comes to mind is Axis have Cyprus and Allies cannot take it back so you take Crete to build an airbase to ferry Allied Fighters to Moscow.

@AAGamer tournament rules has Crete part of the diplomacy victory point. But yeah, oob rules no real reason to go there.

Same with the Marshall Islands.
Actually there is a reason for the Allies to take the Marshall Islands. If the Allies are trying to deny the Japanese a non-carrier based landing zone from planes coming from either The Philippines or aircraft on carriers in SZ 35 then capturing Marianas, Paulau and Marshall accomplishes this.

I don’t understand. What do you mean by “capturing Marianas”? Who is?
If you’re saying moving from the Philippines sea zone 20 the Marshalls don’t work as a landing spot.

SZ20 is Formosa. SZ35 is The Philippines.
Japanese fighters and tactical bombers coming from The Philippines (M5) or on Carriers in SZ35 (M4) both have 2 movement points left after hitting an Allied fleet sitting in the Caroline Islands (SZ33). That means if they do not want to have to use a carrier slot to land they can land on Marianas, Marshall, Paulau (All originally controlled by Japan) or Gilbert, New Britain, New Guinea (All originally hostile to Japan).
