Schedule of previews of AAP40
-
Here is a rough schedule of future previews:
-
Tomorrow (Dec. 3, 2009) I’ll be posting more photos of the other units in the game. http://www.axisandallies.org/
-
Later this week, I’ll post a high res photo of the map boards.
-
I might have a post about the rules sometime before Sunday. If not Sunday, then after next Tuesday.
-
I’ll be tweeting my first game on Sunday. http://twitter.com/axis_and_allies
-
Next Monday or Tuesday I’ll have the game report from the Sunday game.
-
-
That’s better. Now this is in the right forum. Regarding the Tweets on Sunday. I’ll also have some iPhone photos of the game in progress. Keep in mind, tweets will be occurring when it is not my turn.
-
Thanks very much for this, djensen. I have checked out the Facebook page and I’ll look forward to reading the reviews. :-)

My first reaction to the grey pieces was, oh my god, is Germany in Pacific ? Then I recognized the british pattern uniform, and the matilda tank, and remembered that germans are black.
-
The ANZAC will make great minor axis allies in AAE40… You can use them for Spanish, Hungarian, Finnish, Romanian and Bulgarian. You can even use them as Vichy French and use the blue as free french.
I love that color and the choice for the tactical bomber is a mosquito and thats perfect.
-
America has a darker shade of green it looks like.

Mosquito was a french plane? I cannot remember it. I think spanish planes in SCW were called “Mosca”, but I’m not totally sure
-
What are the Americans using as their Tactical Bomber?
And I believe IL is correct, that sure looks like the British Mosquito.
-
This game looks very interisting, I bought the A&A Europe but my friends and I didnt really liked it that much why would you recomend the A&A pacific? Is there a deeper sense of strategy due to the naval battles? Thats what really draws my attention, the big naval battles and airforces.
-
Royal Air Force
Royal Canadian Air Force
Royal Australian Air Force
Royal New Zealand Air Force
United States Army Air Forceall used that Mosquito plane. but id rather see the Americans get a unique plane sculpt.
Also they brought that p-38 crap back…,. arrg i prefer the hellcat if they want to be cheap, and another plane if they want to do it right.

It’s an SBD Dauntless dive bomber, the same plane that was prominently featured on the cover of the original AAP.

Yup.
-
I like the P-38 because I think it looks neat and unique. :-D

I know but i don’t like landing them on carriers. they look terrible
Don’t you like the p-51 Mustang better?
as an aside P-51 was not used as carrier based planes either, so go figure.
-
Is the perspective throwing me off on the photos, or are the Tactical Bomber pieces all bigger than the Fighters and the Artillery pieces bigger than the Half-track Mech Infantry pieces?
-
The tactical bombers are larger than the fighters so that they’re easier to tell apart. I have no idea why the halftracks are so small.
-
The Tac-bombers size make sense to tell them apart surely enough, and each unit type has different scales and all, but are you saying you don’t know why they look small in the picture or why they were made smaller?
-
I don’t know why they were made smaller.
-
copy that.

Just mail Greg Leeds, he is boss of the chimps
