just like the shlock market, everyone who got word of the reprint tried to sell for the old market price of $300 right before the re-release.

@Imperious-Leader
Really like your map that you have put together here. I’m thinking of the Phase 1 Final Map with Malta and Azores. The time is much appreciated!Two questions:
-
When we go to have them printed, can we scale them a little smaller than the files are intended or will this cause issues to your knowledge.
-
Help me understand why you add Malta and Azores. They are not on the original game board. You have also chosen to add names to a number of islands, particularly around the boot of Italy, but also Ceylon that make them seem like you can land units there, but then only Malta has a symbol signifying it is a country that can be occupied.
Thanks!

Hello everyone!
I just finished to edit Imperious Leader Supreme map with various changes to bring it back to the original OOB status. Why did i do that? because i wanted a clean map equal to the new 2017 edition.-No Azores-
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Portugal_during_World_War_II
In 1944, Portugal signed an agreement with the United States allowing the use of military facilities in the Azores. American forces constructed a small and short-lived air base on Santa Maria Island. Portugal managed to remain neutral despite extraordinary pressures from both sides. So it should not be considered a US territory in 1942 or 1941… players could choose to invade it… but without the “Neutrals” mechanic introduced in Axis 1940 it should be difficult to judge the outcome of this action.-No Malta-
I think Malta is a good choice… and it is present in Europe 1940. But in anniversary we have less sea zones, and Mediterranean Sea is not divided the same way. So i think it is… useless?For sure… the lack of physical representation of these islands doesn’t make me fan of these two options.
-No Polesti - No Cairo-
Albeit those Victory Cities are there for historical reasons, i fear this could unbalance the game. Or not?-No Japan symbol in china-
Just like 2017 version.-No recruitment zone-
This only because i don’t like them =)-No subnames in Italy (Sicily, Sardinia, Corsica)
-Honolulu repositioning in Hawaii-
-Add some images here and there-
Thank you!
And thanks to IL!Luca

The map uses lots of vector graphics (text, borders, symbols, etc.), meaning no loss in detail at any scale (what your printer can manage is a another question). So yes: you should be fine scaling it up or down.

Named Island/Territory = This is a (separate) territory, can be occupied. Control Symbols seem to be the norm, but only in places where they don’t obfuscate the underlying terrain. I think Malta has one to clarify that it is UK-owned even though it is in a SZ containing a bunch of Italian real estate.

He includes them, I think, because of the potentially pivotal strategic role they could serve were they to come into play through some neutral mechanic.

@DespotDoug
I wanted to represent the very real threat of the Axis capturing this Island and bombing mainland USA , which was studied by the General staff and later “sabotaged” by Admiral Canaris. This gives the Axis more options for strategy and this “unsinkable aircraft carrier” might also help the Allies in the gap. It was pretty useful for the Allies and potentially the Axis. Malta was just so important it had to be represented. I understand your concerns about the limited spaces, but in case the Allies got pushed out of North Africa, they would have just one more spot to land planes, or further operations.As far as the map is concerned it can be stretched as long as your large format printer is capable. I only deal in Vector maps because they are superior. It will look extremely crisp no matter the size
-
I will look into the fixes as outlined

@Imperious-Leader speaking of “AA50 Supreme edition” Map, i have just a question:
As far as i understand the background color in Belorussia, Eastern Ukraine, Ukraine, East Poland is not “red” because these territories change owner between scenarios. if this is true, why Baltic State, a territory with the same behaviour, is half “red” and half “green” ?
Thank you!

@dracolich
Thanks for working on the changes. Did you post the link or did I miss it? -
@DespotDoug Not finished
-
Thanks so much for sharing these maps.
Forgive my ignorance, but why is Polesti on the AA50 non editable pdf?
-
Informational purposes and also optional oil rules for that game.
-
@imperious-leader Old post, but it is pinned.
Sorry if I’m missing it, but was there ever a final of the OOB map as discussed by dracolich?
Thanks!
-
@despotdoug not clear on what you need? Is the file not working? I have two versions of AA50
-
@imperious-leader I was looking for a map that is closer to the out of the box AA50 map that dracolich refers to above, but I don’t see a link. So a map with no Azores, Malta, Polesti, Cairo VC, and Japan symbol in China.
-
@despotdoug yea sure, i will look. I got something
-
-
@imperious-leader try that
-
@imperious-leader oh snap its got Azores… gimp could edit that out if you like
-
@imperious-leader https://www.dropbox.com/s/y8atrw5k4m9ay06/AA50 basic version copy.pdf?dl=0
this 2nd one was an older version that does not have Azores
