GG WP! The board is still very interesting, but I don’t see a realistic path to Axis victory. Axis might be able to force a favorable exchange here or there but can’t reverse the trend towards Allies gaining a decisive TUV advantage.

I agree, gg both. Zhuk, it was impressive to see how you kept Japan alive after that disaster at Burma. Certainly, in case you lose 4-5 air less in this battle the entire dynamic could have gone different in the Pacific.

well done to Adam for the patience to grind the Axis down despite losing Moscow.My preliminary conclusion is that a Eurasian land strategy for Axis (where Japan basically gives up on the Pacific to win in East Asia) is less effective in BM, due to the extra Allied NO money in the Pacific and the Atlantic. So I’m thinking that prematurely giving up on the Pacific war should only be an option if there is a relatively sure-thing path to a Europe VC win. Otherwise, Japan should try to hold out for as long as possible.
I remain skeptical about the viability of Western Axis fleet so I’m not optimistic about stopping the Allies from getting the extra NOs on the Atlantic side. The path to Axis victory seems to be well-timed coordinated pushes, rather than the tried-and-true 2nd edition strat of winning the long game by dominating Eurasia.

Great game! Denmark has never seen a bigger stack.
The Burma dice really gave the Allies a leg up. I think your India gamble would have still been a pain for Japan, but not nearly as big as Allies being able to stack Philippines for all those rounds. You could have prevented a landing in Denmark too by being a bit lighter on Moscow if I remember correctly, and you had more than enough to make me back out.
Winning with economy is indeed harder to achieve in BM, for good reason. Axis benefited significantly from the long game in vanilla and they hold the initiative, so something was wrong there.
Germany fleet buy at the right time if Allies are frugal with their navy protection is quite effective. I think it’s situational.
