Well for me, heavy infantry means Panzergrenadier, SS division & Russian shock army.
cost = 4
att = 1 (attack at 2 in the first round of combat)
def = 2 (defend at 3 in the first round fo combat)
move = 1

You’re probably joking, but here’s my two cents anyway:
FAIL
mmm thinking if you’re talking local defense it’s part of the infantry D.
Larger scale minefields… well, maybe a fortress / blockhouse piece would include them. (If we had such a piece.)

Whatever, dude.
Actually, I was thinking more along these lines:

The link goes to an A&A 2nd Edition Expansion called Axis and Allies Accessories
I was just wondering if anyone had any other ideas different from this.
better for a ww1 game
it would make more sense in a game on a smaller scale, it seems really unrealistic that I could cover all of Poland with landmines. Maybe you could place them on specific borders……

Actually, i think the link above calls for just that, mines covering only a single boarder.
MY buddy and I tried out landmines on Monday. We made them 5 IPC, covered one border, and basically acted the same way AA guns do, but for land unites. If territory was captured mines are destroyed. Found out these make USSR a bit to powerful, however they did come in handy for Italy as well.
