That was a costly error. After I started over to change my purchase, I failed to click the fighter/bomber from FIC and went into it with 2 less aircraft. I had options with them after, but…
That could have been a complete disaster. I would probably have had to try and beg for some merciful concession, but as it turned out I can just eat the mistake.

Combat Hit Differential Summary :

@pacifiersboard That’s true, I almost didn’t even consider/calculate it, and then was surprised at the odds
Checking situation -
-
That one is particularly dastardly. You truly are my friend Boldfresh’s kindred spirit, and it has been too long since I had to look out for sneaky moves. Especially sneaky, because I really could not figure out the Tambov airbase, and that is saying something.
I mean, I just can’t believe it. You were obviously targeting 97 because of the Russian carrier move and I still couldn’t find it. All the boring players around here made me go dull. 😏
I almost missed that you have to land the US fighter on the carrier, so one less UK fighter can get in. So I won’t scramble.
As you can tell, I’m up way too late, so any more decisions will have to wait.
And now I’m starting to play in a Classic tournament so I will make more mistakes. There’s no way I could be playing PTV unfortunately, I can’t do the back and forth between versions.
-
Wait, I was confused again, wasn’t I, the fighter can land on North Italy.
-
❤️ 😉
-
Yeah, no scramble because I want you to send in the carrier.
I am almost rooting for your dice, that move is so clever. But not too much.
Talk to you later
-
I will scramble to the UK attack.
-
I would have pointed at this scramble decision’s wrong premise. It is about if you take your odds to hinder amphibious assault at all and risk the one plane for it

Check that, I’m tired.
I will NOT scramble to the UK attack because you can only land one plane on the carrier and get away with 2 bombers. But after all the confusion you have me second guessing myself on everything. All planes will have 1 movement left, so 1 will land on carrier and the rest on North Italy.
-
do you want me to wait with rolling so you can reconsider after you slept?
-
yeah I want as few planes as possible having to land in N-ITA

this may make you think over scramble to US assault … I gonna wait

I do understand the scramble factors, what occurred to me (I mean, I can’t see finished US turn yet) is that UK planes will be able to land in North Italy, so as you said, I do not scramble, although scrambling has a 10% chance of stopping the whole thing.
As you said, I will not scramble to 95 OR to 97 either because more planes will be stuck on North Italy

That is very considerate of you, but I’m confident I figured out what I want to do.
Do not scramble to 95, and do not scramble to 97. Those Italian pilots are heaving a sigh of relief now.
-
And I do hope you win and survive with at least 1 or 2 bombers
-
last double check: I start rolling US?
