in my groups we value consistency, if the battle is rolled wrong, then it is rerolled, no matter what the result was.

I have a problem with the rule regarding rocket fire. I read in the rules: « Choose an industrial complex within 3 spaces and roll one die for each gun ». But if we look at the image on page 33 of the official rules book (https://axisallies.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/axis-allies-rules-revised.pdf), it is impossible for Russia to reach Germany since it is a distance of 4 squares. What’s wrong?
The territory attacked must be within 3 squares or am I allowed 3 squares between the territory attacked and the one from which I shoot?

You post in the AA50 (50th Anniversary Category) but address the rulebook of a different game (Revised).
So which game are you actually playing?

@panther Oops, I thought I had taken a good look. On the official Axis & Allies website, it says: Revised (20th Anniversary) [PDF]. And as I said, it’s written on pages 20 (that, I didn’t give the page, just the piece of text that talks about it) and page 33 of the guide in PDF format that I gave as a link.

@largowin Sorry, but you’re in the wrong forum. This one is for the 50th Anniversary (of Avalon Hill) Edition. You want the Revised (20th anniversary of A&A) Edition forum. I know, it’s confusing, as they’re both technically anniversary editions, but no one refers to Revised in that way anymore since the other came out. In order to avoid more confusion, please post your question there.

There is no such edition.
In 2008 the 50th Anniversary Edition had been issued (50th Anniversary of Avalon Hills).
The Revised Edition issued in 2004 celebrated the 20th Anniversary of the Axis&Allies brand, as in 1984 Axis & Allies (Classic) by MB had been issued (There was a 1981 Edition of A&A by Nova Games however).In case you own the 2008 50th Anniversary Edition, this forum is correct, but the rulebook - as @Krieghund already mentioned - you linked above as well as the pages you mentioned above are incorrect, as those refer to the older game. You should easily notice that the rulebook shipped with the 50th Anniversary game looks totally different from the one you linked to above.

I took this PDF from the official A&A site and it really says 20th anniversary (https://axisallies.com/rule-books/). But hey, I’m going to write my message in the 2004 section if you say so (especially since the BGG site seems to give you reason) since I played this game about thirty years ago, that I bought this used version 2-3 years ago. Then you are definitely the specialists. Thanks for your help. -

Again, while the game you’re talking about is an anniversary game, it’s not the anniversary game that this forum is about, and that everyone knows as the “Anniversary Edition”. (You can even see a link called “Anniversary Edition” on the site you linked that refers to that game.)

Me, I relied on the official site where it speaks of a “Revised (20th Anniversary) [PDF]” (and the pdf link has the date 2014 in it) and the subtitle of this section of the forum speaks of “Released October 2008, re-released October 2017”. It was still confusing…

This error has been covered in the official Revised-FAQ/Errata:
“Pages 33-34, A Sample Turn: Replace all text and diagrams referring to the antiaircraft gun in Russia with an antiaircraft gun in Caucasus.”

I was sure this was the official site for the game since they managed to get the .com domain name. Normally, any company can take this name, even from another person who registered it before them, to show that it is their trade name. I guess naming a game shouldn’t be more complicated than that. That’s why with their title saying “Revised (20th Anniversary)”, I concluded that I had the very latest version of the rules. Is the best place to find the latest version of the rules on BGG?
And for the details on their site, I admit that I did not look too much, because English is not easy for me (I can normally understand it if I read a document, but it always requires an effort from me to read in English - and I have tu use Google translate to write here).
I came to question myself on this rules, because I decided to translate in French the booklets of 3 version of A&A which I have and to download them on the site of BGG, because I would like to replay them in the next few months with my nephew (I already played there more than 30 years ago and I liked it) and to have a French version of the rules to support my game.
Sorry again for not posting in the right forum. But since it said 1984-2004 in the subtitle and I had the 2004 rules, I automatically thought it was there

@largowin You do have the latest version of the rules, for this game. There are, of course, later A&A games, the latest rules for which (those still in print anyway) can be found on Renegade Game Studios’ Axis & Allies page. Which versions do you have?
