Just saw this :) heh heh, no I meant The Captain had mentioned testing additional Chinese Flying Tiger units a while back :)
Merry Christmas to you as well :)
@The-Captain Can Tank Destroyers be part of a Desert Army ? I didn’t see anywhere that said they couldn’t. Just cant be part of a Tank Army.
If so, I assume they’d operate the same as a Commisar Corps ? Would you clarify please.
Thanks
Edit
Also @The-Captain
Can Waffen Pioneers join Waffen Armies ? I don’t see it stated that they can, so I’ll hold off before I code it. -
The rules concerning Tank Destroyer units and Waffen-SS Assault Pioneer units have been updated.
Please read the updated rules.
-
Howdy,
can a Waffen-SS Army contain 2 Waffen-SS-Oberst, while one of them is the leader and the other just a regular unit?
Thanks
-
-
Good question - I’ll have to study our notes for the rulebook.
I’ll be back - asap
-
Thanks. Barnee just answered my question. Further down in the rule book it says, that only 1 SS-Oberst per SS-Army is alowed.
My bad.BR

Hi Captain
If soviets buy partisans and a German controlled TTy becomes vacated due to combat, can they place a Partisan in that TTy ?
For example, there are two empty German controlled TTys and Russia buys two Partisans. During combat, a single Inf in German controlled Vologda is killed but the soviet attacker is also killed, leaving the TTy vacant.
Thanks

The territory must be un-occupied - but Axis-controlled - from the start of the Soviet players turn, in order to place Partisan units in that territory.

Hi Captain,
Regarding the few units with ‘2 dice’ (Elite Infantry, SHB, army units), do both dice inflict losses on the opponent if they are considered successful, or do we have to choose the best of the two dice (as in the original rules for the Heavy Bomber technology improvement)? Thanks much :)

Hi Ben,
Both dice counts.
Please note:
The 2-dice rule also concerns Heavy Bomber units, SHB, Army units etc.In other words: Both dice counts for all these units.

The Axis & Allies Global 1940 Expansion World Championship thread has been updated.

Hi Captain
I thought I had asked this but rereading the rules I’m not so sure.
Can Air Trprts transport allied units ? If so, Germany can transport Italian tanks etc …
They work same as Naval Trprts essentially. Thanks
-
Yes - an Air Transport unit can transport a friendly unit. The game mechanism is the same as for Naval Transport units.
Important:
Only German Air Transport units can transport Tank (Panzer) units. -

@The-Captain What do you think about making Vyborg worth a buck ? SSR would get a mini early game boost and usually G would after the baloon goes up.
We just ignore it so R can’t spawn Partisans right now.
Edit
It can still be used for Air to land if the soviets wanna do some suprise stuff. But basically, it just gets ignored.Edit 2
That’d force G to occupy it . One less dude to the E Front. Idk the Soviets pretty strong in this mod imo. I kinda like playing them :) -
We have discussed and play tested this idea in the Veteran Group back in 2018.
The conlusion was:
- The 1 IPC income is not worth adjusting concerning the overall Game Balance
- Since Vyborg has no IPC value, the Soviet player has an excellent option to split Soviet Forces between Vyborg and Karelia - and thereby force the German player to send units into an IPC Worthless Vyborg in order to avoid the Soviet troops to attack Finland.
This gives the Soviet player an option to counter attack from Leningrad the German troops in either Vyborg and/or Karelia.
In other words: When Vyborg is IPC worthless, it is a Tactical Advantage to the Soviet player.
