1. Yes, tacs can only bomb airfields and naval bases.
2. Perhaps the CV as a landing site has already had its capacity used up by other moves you have made?
Italian Pacific Bombers

I just thought of this, would be really annoying to play against this figured I’d share the idea.
If the Italians brought a bomber into the pacific, they would be able to pick off ANZAC transports that are protected by the US fleet between the US and ANZAC moves. It would serve the same purposes a German bomber would but with an added bonus.

@windowwasher It would be difficult to get over there until later in the game. Take Italian Somalialand to deny them a landing spot. In other versions of the game its good to get Japanese bombers into Germany territory but in Global the italian air is more useful as a canopener.
It’d be easier for the Allies to do what you’re talking about. In the pacific, some anzac air can ride with usa, they could add a bomber and subs. UK air that survives ME battles heads east and sets up with other surviving units. If the BB lives, it can join that stuff, or head to queensland to protect that… By keeping some units from UK and ANZAC, the USA could mount an offensive/defensive battle to the last guy–the other 2 allies come in and finish off any Japanese units that live.

yep, im talking about in round 6+ when the real naval stacks meet each other.
The Germans would have at least Novgorod, from there fly to china and then to the philipines.

@windowwasher I’ve done that on occasion and it can be really effective.
My route of choice is via Greece - from there Yunnan and Kweichow are in reach.
-
@freh I count 7 from Greece, so Greece with an airbase maybe or am I miscounting?
-
@freh Ok, I see it now. Pretty sneaky :)
