    @Amon-Sul Soviet-Mongolian Defense Pact: Due to their mutual border conflict with Japan in 1939, the Soviet Union and Mongolia have a special relationship. The Mongolian territories (Olgiy, Dzavhan, Tsagaan-Olom, Central Mongolia, Ulaanbaatar, and Buyant-Uhaa) will never become pro-Axis unless one or more of them is attacked by the Soviet Union. Also, if Japan attacks any Soviet-controlled territory that is adjacent to any Mongolian territory, all Mongolian territories that are still strict neutral or pro-Allies, or have joined the Allies as a result of a failed Japanese attack, are placed under the control of the Soviet Union at the end of Japan’s Conduct Combat phase. This is done in the same manner as though the Soviet Union had moved land units into a friendly neutral territory (see “Friendly Neutrals,” page 10). These territories have Soviet control markers placed on them, and their standing army units are placed on the board using Soviet pieces and are controlled by the Soviet Union player from then on. This occurs regardless of the state of relations between the Soviet Union and Japan at the time of the attack, with one exception: If the Soviet Union attacks Korea or any Japan-controlled territory bordering these Mongolian territories while Mongolia is still a strict neutral, Mongolia will remain neutral and not ally itself with the Soviet Union.

    Think it is as usual, that they will become Soviet if Japan attacks any bordering territory only.

  • but i am not sure, since if U go to politics map U can see Mongolians are pro allied to Allies.

    Once Russia joins allies, i think Russia can pick those inf up, just like any other pro-allied dudes.


  • ok, i ve tried to play it in local mode.

    Even when Germany declared war to Russia, Russia still couldnt take the mongolian dudes.

    But when Russia declared war to Japan, it could.


  • Now i tried not to declare war to Russia with Germany.

    Its the same.

    Russia can move into Mongolia and take the inf if it declared war to Japan first.

    If Germany and Italy attack the True Neutrals, is Mongolia pro allied? And if so , does Russia has to declare war to Japan first to pick up those guys?

    I ve just tried in triple a to move russians into turkey and NW Persia, if not at war with Germany, and it cant move there.

    So it seems U were right about that.

  • Hi guys - responding to Amon’s question about Mongolia.

    If the Axis attack a true neutral, Mongolia goes pro-allied like any other true neutral. Russia does not have to declare war on Japan, but the allies would have to move in to claim the infantry same as Afghanistan, for example.

    @gamerman01 I worry that your answer might be misleading.

    It’s true that Russia doesn’t need to declare war on Japan for the Allies to claim pro-Allied infantry in Mongolia … but I think Amon-Sul might have been asking about Russian options specifically.

    Russia does need to be in a state of war with Japan for Russia to enter pro-Allied Mongolia due to theatre-specific neutrality.
