@ScottMcCullar Where may I find the file or purchase a board please?

I would use the clone stamp in photoshop and grab the texture from a neighbouring sea zone
-
Nice! I ordered 500 awhile back, they were identical to HBG, but my .75 punch was not accurate… did you use a .75 or 11/16?
As my paper cutter is .75 (19mm) I made the discs .76 (19.4mm). This works really nice as the paper artwork doesn’t stick out of the edge of the wooden discs.
-
@Imperious:
How do you remove artwork on the OOB maps, while it looks like essentially another sea area but with some detail?
\
A bit off topic in this thread, but robert is right. I use the clone tool (in GIMP in my case) to copy bits and pieces from different original sea zones to match artwork and color as best as I can.

Hi Tjoek,
I guess you’re Dutch as i am, I’m a beginning global 40 player and really like how you’re doing things. I also like to make stuff myself and like HBG stuff very much, but with the shipping and taxes it becomes really expensive.
Can you give me some tips and tricks how you are doing stuff? Which shop to buy the wood etc.?
Maybe you life close to me?Thanks so far

Update first post with a link to download the designs for these roundels including my custom design movement tokens and research tokens. Enjoy!

I love the design of the movement markers.
Can’t wait to play with the tokens as well. -
We played our first game with all the custom markers last weekend. They handle really well and look nice on the map!
-
Those fuel roundels look great. I spent the weekend researching an acrylic version of the fuel markers.
-
@Tjoek these are terrific! do you have an art resource for the naval bases, airbases, and minor ICs?
-
@Tjoek Do you have a link to where you bought the discs? The sticker sheets? And finally a PDF to print out the stickers. :grin:

I did the same and couldn’t find one that looked nice enough to me. That’s when I started this journey to create my own markers with custom artwork

No not (yet).
- For ICs I use the plastic factories you get with other versions of the game. I just spray painted a number of ICs black to represent the Marjor ICs.
- For naval bases and airbases I’m working on a 3d printed icon on top of a wooden square. I hope to be able to show you more about this before the end of the year as I had some setbacks with an ordered 3D printer that never arrived and sample prints that my kids had hidden somewhere… but all’s good now except for the spare time at the moment.

The discs where custom cut at a local laser cutting company in the Netherlands (www.laserbeest.nl)
I just used regular photo paper in my home printer to print the artwork you can find in my original post. These where subsequently punched from this sheet of paper. This wasn’t as easy to get right. So I printed some extra sheets to replace the ones that were a bit off center.

haha dude I feel your pain. The look on my four year old’s face when she opened the door and saw Anniversary setup on the floor… I had a subsequent week or so of “Let’s play axis and allies” requests every morning and evening. I gave her the 1941 board and some '41 bits to play with. :)

Luckily we play in the attic were my 4 and 2 year olds cannot get to without help, but they do want to watch what we’re doing. And besides they know there is candy up there. :grinning:

@Tjoek I just 3D-printed a gazillion 19mm x 3mm discs to try these out, will post results!
-
@vodot looking forward to your results!!
