Germany kicked off WWII by responding to a Polish raid on a German radio station with a massive counter-attack.
Polish aggression was soon snuffed out by Germany and their socialist allies the USSR.
However the campaign was used by the western powers as a pretext to crush Germany as a great power once and for all, and Soviet treachery ensured Germany’s eventual defeat and dismemberment.
