@Daaras Hope all is well, USA/China/UK are up.
Cmd Jen (Axis) vs Botider (Allies) Alpha+3 Gm 1
-
yeah, i know. just mulling over the liberation of london…
-
@Cmdr:
Surface warships (except aircraft carriers) do 1d6 damage, max 3 (so a 4, 5 or 6 misses.)
Submarines do 2d6 damage. Again, 4, 5 and 6 miss.
Aircraft on board aircraft carriers do 2d6 damage, again, 4, 5 and 6 miss.CRD: Convoy Raid Disruption/Damage
so did you need to roll for the 3 german subs on your last turn? the map auto-calcs the damage amount,… if you’re rolling dice, is it possible it could be 0??

Ignore the maps calculations, you could avoid any convoy damage if the dice roll correctly, but now you have to roll. Personally, I liked the old way where it was just automatic.
-
so how do you want to do it? england’s income from E1 was calc’ed by the map… at least i didn’t see any rolls for it. i don’t care how we play it… automatic is nice; rolling dice will take some careful analysis of the board at the end of each potentially impacted country’s turn. :-P

We can do auto, if you want.

Could you put it on, wanted to tell ya before England too.
-
Fixed map - need England still

Also, the American fleet is not allowed in SZ 106.
While not at war with Germany or Italy, the United States may end the movement of its sea units on the Europe map only in sea zones that are adjacent to US territories, with one exception - US warships (not transports) may also conduct long-range patrols into sea zone 102.

I see botrider is not familiar with the older version of alpha 3.
the changes made were official as of feb. usa has no pacific naval restrictions other than do not end on enemy territories (which applies to every country not at war)/
-
in other words usa naval can go where it wants to in the pacific now except to places like caroline and japan etc.
-
also jen the links you provided have been changed to reflect the updated rules, I am not sure where I can find the older version of a+3 online… I had it printed out but I threw it away when the newer version came out.
-
In other words you may have to explain the rules to him, I also strongly suggest the allies get a bid for the older version.

I am not referring to the Pacific. I am only talking the Atlantic near Canada. As far as I saw in Larry’s site, that rule did not change in Alpah 3.9 either. Basically, the way I read the rules, America is not allowed to move within one movement of Africa, Europe or the British Isles (England/Ireland).
The Pacific rule has always (Alpha 3, Alpha 3.9) been that America can go anywhere except end next to a Japanese territorory.

I quoted the rule and gave a link.
