Quick Tip 1941 Setup

Hi.
We will play a game with the 1941 setup + NOs.
I want to reduce the allied disadvantage with a Factory for free for the UK-Player* and a few additional russian untis**
_*to be placed from the beginning at the game for free at Eastern Canada, Egypt, India or Australia
**worth 10 IPCs - units of choice an to be placed in the terretory of choice_
I wonder, if this bonus ist too much for the Allies?

Yes get rid of that factory idea, but give Egypt a few more men. The Russian thing seems correct: add a fighter, 1 tank, and a few Inf.

Is there a standard bid for the 1941 setup?

We normally land around 8-10 depending on open or closed Dardannelles.

I’ve played countless games of AA50, 1941 and 1942 setup and we’ve had both sides win pretty evenly with no bids and relatively equally experienced players.
Why does everyone feel there needs to be a bid of some kind?

What optional rules do you use?
Do you play with National Objectives?
Do you play with tech?Any of the FAQ optionals like closed Dardenelles or Ftr escorts?
These all make a huge difference in the game, IMHO

Always With NO’s, never escorts, dardenelles open and most times with tech. Otherwise entirely OOB rules.
Occasionally without Tech. Similar results.

My suggestion is to join the AA50 league here and play a few games and then rethink your thoughts about how even the game is without a bid.
Tech is the great wild card, especially the crap shoot OOB rules. So tech might win you some games without a bid. But without tech, the allies need some REALLY bad axis dice early to have a chance.

A factory for free is maybe too much with the 41 UK starting IPCs.
Think 2 Inf in Egypt an 2 Inf for the Russians (+Figther +Tank) will be ok.
