Thank you! I just wanted to let you know of my progress. I certainly tried to do all of that in earlier games, but for one reason or another, it didn’t work well enough to net an Axis win.
Pre-Order is out!

Yes, but who out of all the game stores put their money back in to try enhance the Axis and Allies experience and gets involve in the Axis and Allies community? I can only think of one, Field Marshal Games! [Combat Dice(Awesome), Ammo box(Wicked), Combat Units(Can’t wait), Dice tray and towers(Sweet).]
…which is why I said if you want to support someone else… I just wanted to get the info out there so we all know everything there is to know, you know?
For me, due to shipping, there was a big difference in price. But since it’s not the same for everyone, we can now make informed decisions on it.

Very true!
Thanks for putting the info out there!

What’s the latest - when is this game supposed to be ready?

From the Coolstuffinc website:
_Description:
Expected Release: August 24, 2010. Date subject to change. With the invasion of the Low Countries and the allied evacuation from Dunkirk, the German army is poised to march on Paris. In Axis & Allies: Europe 1940, France appears for the first time in Axis & Allies as a new, playable ally, while Italy serves as a second Axis power along with Germany. Plus, two new combat units that debuted in Axis & Allies: Pacific 1940, Tactical Bombers and Mechanized Infantry, will resurface, while new rules for neutral nations, naval and air bases, and convoy disruption will add even more depth and historical accuracy to the game. Additionally, this deluxe theater-level game is designed to play together with Axis & Allies: Pacific 1940.
Category: Strategy Games
Style: Casual War Game
Ages: 12 - 99
Players: 2 - 5
Play Time: 1.5 - 4.0 Hours_Well, if France was a playable ally, it should have read:
Players: 2 - 6
But never mind! :-)
To me, the only surprising feature about this product description is:
Play Time: 1.5 - 4.0 Hours
The thing will take about a half an hour to set up… can’t see getting through the first few games, at least, in this short a timeframe!
BTW: Who is actually, seriously, going to play Europe '40 on its own anyway (outside of a tournament environment)? I think that almost everyone is just dying to put together the Global '40 and lose a week or two of their lives… I only play Pacific '40 on its own to get used to the new units, strategies, etc… and because I have no choice for the time being!

Thanks a lot, guys. Wasn’t seeing it after looking around for 5 minutes…
-
We all knew France was just going to stand there and get beat up. Bo surprise the game only has 5 players
lol -
as for coolstuffinc, i think they mean 2,5-40 hrs. they just put in an extra comma. and regarding france as not being the sixth player. that sums it all up.

Players: 2 - 5
Well, if France was a playable ally, it should have read:
Players: 2 - 6
Perhaps what they mean is that France, although it’s playable, is controlled by one of the Allied players, in the same way that China in Pacific 1940 gets its own game turn but is controlled by an Allied player.

Agreed, this is only logical. As for game time listed, I’ve always found estimates on wargames are WAY OFF.
