• Hey Cyanight any reason you cut out the swordfish in your RAF selection ?

  • '14 Customizer

I am not a big fan of bi-planes. Although I thought of painting one with French markings and roundels, hehe

  • I’m pretty sure the Brit sword fish pilots felt the same way when they came up on the 109’s in the med lol…. I actually use one of the AA 1914 bi planes painted in French markings for the fighters in London ans france haha

Hmm… Maybe I will have to paint a couple.  Maybe I will revisit when I work on the new UK Cruisers.

    Germany is ready for War.

    The Luftwaffe

    The Kriegsmarine

    The Adv Tech

    • Gotha go 229 (Heavy Bombers)
    • Me 262 (Jet Fighters)
    • Adv Artillery
    • Advanced Mech
    • Super Submarines

  • Wow.  Where did you get the Gotha 229 / Horten IX sculpts?  I think HBG’s Amerka has them, but I thought the game wasn’t out yet.

Wow Cyanight, all these are awesome. The amount of  pieces you are producing is amazing. You sir, are a war machine, LOL. Great job, buddy! :-D

  • Those Gotham 229’s look awesome cyanight great job man… I would be buying up research die tryin too get those paint jobs on the board for sure ! I like your armour too… Just a thought ever considered using a flat or dull sheen clear coat on some of your pieces? You have some nice details and some great work on your tank tracks some times the high gloss shine can blind some of the details just imo… But great work! Your Germans and UK armies are my favorite :)

    Thanks again guys!

I got the Gotha’s from Scotia Grendel Productions. They are made of metal though.

Search for this ID number CAGS49 - Go 224 Flying Wing.

jwo, I know exactly what you mean. The gloss tends to distort my colors and mask the detail. I’m looking into some anti-shine coat instead.

  • I like the shinny coats, they protect the paint job like a sealer.

BTW you have the most aesthetic set. Not the most accurate, but pleasing to look at.

  • Very cool - you are inspiring me to do some painting this winter…

  • '14 Customizer

Yea, they are sealed and protected well.  I’m sure they are water proof, hehe.  The gloss does change the colors though and makes them look much darker.  Thanks again for the comments and Der Kuenstler I am glad I could inspire you :)

Now onto USA and some special facilities that I will be painting after the last set is done.  I hope to get the Amerika set from HBG by the end of this month but who knows it may be another 2 months, lol

I plan to paint some of the Amerika set so that I can use the Meteor Jets for UK and Heavy tanks for US, UK, Germany and Japan.  Lots of nice pieces in that set.

Then we also have the US expansion set from HBG.  I am eagerly waiting for that set because of the Persing tanks, Shooting Star jets and Long Tom Artillery.

  • Hey Cyanight… If your familiar with any modelling paints at hobby shops the Tamyia paints have a good flat sheen protective spray. I use it on my pieces and have found it works well… 2-4 coats and your nice and protected and your paint colors aren’t altered!

I too have ordered HBG’s Amerika game… Mostly for the AMAZING sculpts! Do you know any news on when it’s supposed too be shipped?? You said this month I haven’t heard this?? But then again it’s getting close too a year I think from their estimated delivery time so your right could be next month… Or well into 2015 haha. I do hope that US set comes out sooner tho. I really want to paint those p47 jugs and liberty b24 bombers!

I saw an email from HBG that they said Amerika would ship by the end of November.  Before that they said it was going to be released in November and no later.  I fear it may be December but hope they ship before then.

Here is the stuff I purchased from the War Store.  I hope it works :)

  • What a cool product! Keeps the shine on things like chain mail and such very cool. You use a metallic paint or silver on most of the centres of your ships right? So you will retain your shine on the bridges of the ships! Also great news about the Amerika release date for end of November I hope that’s true. We all have Christmas time off perfect for painting up some units.

I just got an email today from HBG saying that the Amerika is being shipped from China today. I don’t know if that’s good news or bad news, hehe.

Here are some new Carriers I painted.

I found the Akagi Japanese carrier and the legendary Russian Kostromitinova Aircraft Carrier from the A&A 1941 set… The Russian carrier is legendary because it was never built. I painted it based on the blueprints for the project. The old Akagi carrier(with Shinano scuplt) was converted to the Taiho. I also added 2 new escort Carriers for USN, the Casablanca and the Bataan. I also converted the old Casablanca to the Ticonderoga

This is the new UK Cruiser. In the picture you can see the UK Battleship next to 8 new* cruisers, the old cruiser and the UK destroyer.

Some more new pieces from the 1941 set.

Superb job on all these pieces. You are getting better, all the time. Great job, Cyanight! :-D

  • What are those white blotches?

  • I think those white blotches are just the lighting glare coming off the high gloss coat cynaight uses to protect his pieces.  I really like the grey scheme you used on your fw 190’s! they look fantastic…  I went with greys on my focke-wulf’s as well. I think you and I might be the only two guys here that used the OOB fw190s from the 41 set.  All other painted 190’s I ve seen on here have been the HBG versions.

I hope the news Amerika is shipped from china is good news lol! I’m a backer too and I didn’t receive this email notification.
