@StreblaX You must have missed it. I don’t have the rulebook at hand at the moment. But you will find how to roll for battles in the Combat Sequence description (Conduct Combat Phase) . Actually in this edition there is only one unit that needs more than one hit to be destroyed, that is the battleship (2 hits). You will find this information in the respective Unit Characteristics description.
The axis historically won ww2
-
I understand why the axis usually win all the latest axis and allies game. We are the only dimension / parallel universe in which the allies won WW2. D-day failed in every other universe and Sgt. Basilone did not survive Guadacanal or make it out of the Philippines in some instances.
This is why the axis should always be favored to win.

Your impeccable logic leaves no room for doubt. And all this time I’ve chalked it up to unbalanced gameplay!
I wonder if Alternate-Me is out there somewhere, speaking German?
:-D

Yes and it also reveals something quite phenomenal:

Which means that throughout Classic and Revised (where the Allies were favored) and up until 2008, we lived on a dimension where the Axis actually won WW2.
Then on 2008 AA50 came out, the Axis are now favored and thus we have an interdimensional shift and on this reality the Allies actually win WW2.
Mindboggling…

Can anybody say, “Divide by zero?” =)

Dimension shift again: the world as we know would be transformed into a reality where none won and the Allies and Axis divided the world between themselves and have been into a Cold War since the end of WW2.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q9TQj_hFybc&feature=relatedI would but they keep making me wear this straitjacket… I even have to type with my tongue :P

we have an interdimensional shift
If I had a nickel for every time I’d been through an interdimensional shift… Actually, another me probably does.

Wasn’t this an episode of Sliders?

From my perspective I feel more like Brad Pitt’s character on ‘12 Monkeys’ but with interdimensional shifts you never know…
-
Maybe there’s a dimension where the Axis won, and A&A is unbalanced to the Allies, and the players on that dimension complain that the Allies always win.
-
Italy dominated the medi sea in 1942. This never happens in Axis and Allies
-
I Would like to think so, Noll.
Tiny Malta. Wasn’t that a thorn in our side from 40-42? Weren’t the North African campaign won on the question of resupply? And we lost!
Did the Fleet ever really sortie after Taranto? I think there were some Destroyer/Cruiser engagements, but nothing major.
O forse sbaglio! -

O forse sbaglio!Allied propaganda. We all know that Rommel took Egypt, Malta surrendered, the Allies surrendered and the Axis won and after retiring Il Duce’s was more known by his nickname: ‘bunga-bunga’. ;)

Its true that Italy had dominance of the medi in 1942. Historians question why Italy didint took Malta while he had the advantage. In that year supplies to Libia were easy to deliver for this reason.
