Hi ANZAC. For the HBG 1939 map, think of a 4x8 sheet of plywood. Its is HUGE and awesome. You need a big room for that size table plus room to walk around on all 4 sides. I only played the 1939 game one time and I can say it is definitely superior in a hundred different ways, but playing it is an order of magnitude more complex than global 1940. Global 1940 seems like the kiddie game next to it, which is nuts because global 1940 is not an easy game by any means. I’d say your best bet is to get the global 1940 if only for the pieces, and then blow the extra money for the 1939 map and elite pieces if and when you and your crew outgrow it. Another option is to play 1940 on this site with triplea.

I did not realize that these documents would be so popular nor did I pay attention that what I had posted had my Canadian house rules in them.
Here are the three documents involved that had the Canadian rules in them. These versions have had the Canadian rule information striped out and are of the standard rules. You might want to use these in place of the ones listed above. Sorry if you have already printed them.

Very helpful and adaptable. I also find some of the rules difficult to remember without reference to the rulebooks. These should help. Thanks :-)

Please find attached a link to my simple yet detailed excel sheet which keeps track of your IPCs from round to round.
There is a war room on sheet 16 which can be entered any time to see the war trends over the game.
Please select the free download option down the bottom (they try to get you to pay).

I created a Macro-enabled worksheet to help with the banking in AA Global, Alpha +2. It keeps track of income, bonus and banks for each of the 9 countries (with separate banks for UK), and has a handy purchase calculator for tracking your buys. I’ve recently added an archive sheet, so you have a visual representation of the economies.
Installation:
You’ll need Excel 2007 (maybe 2003 will work, I’m not sure) to use this spreadsheet – make sure to enable macros.
1. Download the spreadsheet.
2. Rename the extension from .xls to .xlsm (I had to change it to upload it to this forum).
3. Open the renamed spreadsheet.
