Mexico was not independent during the civil war. It was under French control.
Re: Field Marshal Games Pieces Project Discussion thread

I realize that this is Jeremy’s project, not ours, and he has every right to do whatever colors he wishes…
But I’ve never liked the idea of matching the pieces to the FMG dice. Changing the color of the Italians was fine, and possibly ANZAC, but leave the rest as they are.

The difference here is we have a colour STANDARD. WOTC, changes the colour with every release…

Jeremy,
They have used the same colors since 2004. That is 7 years of consistency, and the vast majority of the current product in the market uses the same base colors.
All of the below use the same colors for each power. The inconsistency came about from 1999-2003, as WotC/AH was moving away from the 1984 edition colors and it took a while to standardize. Since then, the colors have remained consistent.
Axis & Allies 1942
Axis & Allies Europe 1940
Axis & Allies Pacific 1940
Axis & Allies Anniversary
Axis & Allies Battle of the Bulge
Axis & Allies GuadalcanalI am a piece junkie, and I admit it - I have probably 10,000 Axis & Allies pieces in total. I have every color version that has come out, including lime green UK pieces. However, I realise that the colors have been stable, and will be stable, since 2004.
-
Then why do my Germany pieces not match between Europe 1940 and AA50? The colour is off.
Our project here is not to COPY, but to replace and SURPASS
-
The only color change since 2004 has been shading the Germans from a grayish black to a true black.
Bulge/1942/1940 editions all have Germany in true black.

Ah, good – a fellow A&A sculpt addict. Excellent.

Gray is the way to go. That way you can use the black pieces for Waffen SS.
No other wargame or representation other than AA has ever represented Germany as a black set of forces, except in Diplomacy, which is dealing with 1905 pre Great War.
Its time FMG puts the correct color back for Germany…. GREY, like in the old Milton Bradley days.
I hope Japan can go back to that Beige- Yellowish color too, but burnt orange is OK.
-
I agree with FMG these pieces won’t be used in conjunction with WOTC’s they will replace them.
-
I back the motion for grey. “Feldgrau” preferably :-)
-
It seems to me that we’ve had this conversation about 100 pages ago….
-
all i said was is it confermed that grey is before black.

yes. But if you need an exact quote, look through Jeremy’s posts by searching through his profile, which will be easier than looking page by page.

FMG- I know you plan on doing both Black and Gray for the Germans, I was wondering if both colors will be done simultaneously, or will we have to wait for U.S. to be completed? Thank you.
Right now we are working on getting the Nations done and released as quickly as possible. SPECIAL EDITIONS will be released later.
The FIRST Germany Units will be Grey
i found it

Can i expect to receive the italian units in February? I’m in Europe… :-)

I don’t think ANY of us will be getting our Italian units until sometime in February.
