I just noticed that the PtV map is quite different than OOB! I thought just there are just rules differences like in BM. Ha!
Might take till tomorrow until I found out bid and first turn.

@axis-dominion I don’t think it helps. I think only starting version matters
-
Yeah now I have to load up 1.9 and do shit there. Going to get really annoying in Pacific. Not sure what to do.

You’re able to load it up in 1.9? Thought the file was not backwards compatible
-
No I have to load up a blank game and manually input everything to use the calc there
-
In my game against cyanight, I have already had 3 rule issues with client not treating subs properly and we are only in turn 2.
I guess its a bit of a crapshoot with versions, but my experience with 2+ has been nothing but frustration.

@ksmckay which version of TripleA are you using?

alright still happening with the older version 2.1.20365. I checked my team game with Adam, and that game was created using 2.1.20625, which doesn’t have the hang issue. So I figured 2.1.x should work, but apparently not. Maybe it’s as you said, it matters more which version the game was created with.
-
but just in case, I’m going to see if I can find 2.1.20625 specifically.
-
nope, still happening with 2.1.20625 as well, which tells me that it’s more to do with the version that created the game.
-
2.2.20868 is what i have been using. But i had issues with 2.1. something too.
-
I noticed it has to do with an attacking sub. when I do the same battle without the attacking sub, it works.
-
yep, i have seen 3 different issues with sub rules this version, and the battle calc cant handle subs in certain circumstances. Though sometimes when I restart it works, sometimes it doesnt.
-
should we attempt to recreate the game with the older known version? maybe it’ll be some upfront work but save us a lot of misery in a longer game, which we usually have?
-
yeah i dont see any other option. No way we can continue like this. Pacific will be a nightmare.
From Panther (about something else, but still applies)
Loading the savegame in the latest pre-release shows the issues again, as problems in games started in the past cannot be resolved by updating the TripleA client, as updating the client does not change the game information stored in savegame files. In other words: As long as nobody starts new games with up-to-date clients and maps, the problems, saved in savegame-files, will be carried over and continue.

we can mess with it later. My preference would be 1.9 but if you have a version of 2 that you like thats fine. But just seems like 2 is a buggy mess right now.

yah at this point, I think we should just settle with using 1.9. how about we each redo our own turns but edit to match the actual results? I will start by doing G, then you can do R, etc. and I will download and install 1.9.0.0.13066.
does that seem like a good approach? or is there a better one?
-
I would think we could just match the map. My first thought was to auto cycle (set everything but Anzac to do nothing) through the turns to catch up to Anz 3 and then just edit things. But perhaps your way would be easier.

but that does screw the history

Yah but not much choice on that. Something has to give, let it be the history.
I’ll get G done now.
