I think this is pretty good.

Of course the fig should be built in Persia, reaching both Calcutta for attack and Moscow for defence. With 3 fig, 2 tac there, I think it’s pretty powerful. I contemplated having one tac in z98, but prefered to maximize the defence there. Don’t think Moscow is close to go down next turn, so there’s still time to get that air in there.

Actually, now I see that the air in ME should be in E Persia instead. Thereby they can still reach Moscow, but also hit Calcutta without losing position. Will change that.

First I put the sb and 3 figs in Moscow, but then I came to think of the sweet opportunity to gain the basic NO for Russia. 5 IPC is pretty good. Not fully sure this is the way to go, since now there’s only 2 figs in Moscow instead of 5-6 countering SBR. On the other hand, the strategic bombing is prone with risk in itself, so I consider it worth it with only 2 sb at hand.

The upside is that with 3-4 figs in Norway, it’s as secure as the Mountain King’s stony Hall. Or Hitler’s bunker. US will build an ab there next turn, so those planes can reach Moscow when need be.

May also add that it was great to sink that cr z92 and keep the sub. Well worth it to bring in the fig there. And very nice to bomb Ukraine for 6 dmg, especially with G on a 49 income-level. I think it looks pretty tough now for Germany.

I don’t think you need the fighters in Norway so I would put them in Moscow to discourage a strat bombing.

also, I would suggest leaving the inf and art in Gib and grabbing another inf and AA (or mech) for Norway. And I think I would suggest moving the units in TJ to Iraq. And any other land units that can move towards Iraq/Persia I would. I don’t think there is a need to put those units in Alex. too. TJ is better. And I think the mech and tank are better in E Persia than NE Persia.

And if you have enough air in range of Moscow already, I would build the fighter in London and another inf in Persia. I think that is more efficient. If you built 2 fighters I would suggest building one in Persia since it could replace an inf, but with just one, I think London is better,(assuming Moscow can be protected which I think it can, but haven’t checked carefully)

I think it is unlikely for them to take it (I’m more worried that the strat bombing will more than compensate for the 5 IPCs you get as Moscow next turn) but its not as risky an attack as this might often be since in the event of a poor first round, they can retreat to join their larger stack. And in trading mechs for your inf, they are losing more tuv, but you are losing more defensive power. Even a poor dice round might still positively effect their odds on a subsequent attack.

It looks like the worst case scenario for Moscow (where every air potentially in range lands there), his odds on G6 are 12%

yeah, If I was Germany I would want to playtest that before committing, but I expect I would go in with the 75% odds on taking Moscow and potentially another 10-15%+ odds where the impact on a G6 attack is either negligible or favourable. You could probably leave one fighter in Norway and still be pretty safe in Moscow, but I would want at least 5 fighters in Moscow to reduce the threat of bombing.

Btw, what’s the point of leaving units in Gibraltar? It won’t need it next turn and now US is in the position of boosting Gibraltar at pleasure. I’d rather use the UK units available where they are needed.

@trulpen I think 2 inf in NW Persia is not a bad idea. In the event he just sends a mech down to take Caucasus you can take it back.

On Gib, there are a couple of reasons… First, I would rather have the AA in Norway, so I would end up leaving the art anyway. Also, the units at norway now can’t reach Gib to protect it if he goes after it with Italy. That is pretty low risk I think, but just didn’t think it was needed in Norway, so thought it was better to leave back as a precaution. Finally, later on you are going to probably come around in the med with British transports carrying 4 more units. When you do, you will have 2 more land units ready so you don’t need to go so far to pick up reinforcements after the first amphibious assault.

I wanted to secure Algeria, since the fig was meant to land there. Norway thereby gets 2 aa, which is good against 5 german air. The units in northern Africa may be picked up by tr later.
