Is it possible for this game to be set it up so that every country could fight on it’s on; with one country destroying everyone else as the only victory condition? Say, combine Italy and France (with Spain and Portugal?) and let them go first? Britain goes 2nd? And perhaps add about 1 guy to every Chinese territory? What would the outcome of THAT game look like?
Possible free For All?

Japaneses still don’t deserve be “liberated” by the glorious Red Army!
USSR-Japan non-agression pact
-
Has anyone heard from Randomacts?
If he is a no show, should we get one of the other players (Nix or Balung) who wanted to play to take over Japan?
And with my neighboring nations having chosen, I will end the deferral of Germany’s choice…
JU-87 Stukas (did anyone honestly expect something else from a former Zoomie?)
Oh, and I was finally able to leave that spill site. We got the flow cut off and managed to get the fuel contained before it reached the Neuse River (though we had to work with several hundred yards of flooded stream due to repeated cloudbursts today). The project will get finished up tomorrow with clean up of the actual release site, and the containment booms will stay in place until mid week in case any residual fuel leaches out of the stream banks or storm drains. I am TIRED!
-
:lol:This was Randmacts idea I don’t think we should leave him out!
-
Yeah Switch, I was just waiting to see what Jen was picking before making my choice. :-)
I will choose Kamikaze attacks.
Lets roll, I’ll make up the thread in the normal games and we can go from there. -
This should be… interesting!
-
If by “interesting ” you mean imba, then yes.
-
That is the fun. Imbalanced maybe, but … who’ll get most screwed? Anyway, is game suited for role-playing.
Mmmm … marines and kamikazes plus my non-agression pact. Shall we see lots of action in Pacific? :-D
Now, about the NA we recieved/chosen
I’m OK with russian winter i received. I was doubting between choosing movile industry and the non-agression pact. Moving ICs is funny  , but i think i need a boost in far east for not be screwed (i suspect i’ll not receive aid against Germany)
Switch chosed stukas thing. I would chosen convoys thing only by fun, but these stukas seem scary. They work on fleet or only in land?
Aj received enigma decoded. It’s good. But I would choose colonial garrison instead radar. Sure AJ thinks he’ll we strategic bomb by both germans and USA? But now he must struggle for keep his empire. I would have put the col. garrison in Australia (India’s situation seems hopeless, stuck between USSR, Japan and maybe even Germany), then maybe an IC in South Africa
Kamikazes: seems randstand fears USA navy build. Anyway, Japan has many interesting NA and the optimal choice is not clear.
Jen choiced marines. I think she choosed very well, because she is going lot of anphibious assaults. In normal games, i choose Chinese divs, but honestly in this FFA, China is totaly screwed, more than India, so marines are the best option
This game seems is going to have lots of naval action, both in Pacific and Atlantic
-
Stukas work against any navy or land force provided NO DEFENDING FIGHTER ARE PRESENT!
So if you want to negate their first strike ability, just land a fighter there. :P Honestly, Panzerblitz would have been better in this game, or even U-Boat interdiction.
Anyway, I agree, I think Japan’s afraid of a war in the Pacific. Of course, as America I had almost no choice but to take something to make amphibious assaults better since I have to Amphib Europe, Asia, the Pacific, Africa and Australia to win. :P
Mobil industry wouldnt’ have done you much good, as Russia. I think you chose well with non-aggression. At the worst you get +4 infantry, at best you keep Japan off you’re back.
England’s Radar may be helpful in the long run. No idea. Depends what he does with it.
-
Stukas work on naval? Whoa! It seems z2 BB is doomed! Still, i can’t land fighters in conquered territories, so stukas assure germans can change territories easily.
Moving ICs is sexy  . And could aid me in the long run against you :-D (Vladivostok or Manchuria fleet? … just kidding ) Anyway, I think non-agression pact is better.
-
Yea, it was changed in LHTR 2.0 so they don’t work at sea anymore, basically killing the real desire to get them. :) Well, in my mind.
-
My reasoning for choosing Radar rather than Colonial Garrison … how the hell is a dying empire supposed to build in 2 places?!
I figured the radar would at least help me out on defense whenever i get attacked … we’ll see -

Shoulda house ruled UK to have an additional battleship, transport, and carrier northwest of London 4 more fighters and 1 bomber on London, 2 more infantry on London, and 4 more infantry in each of West US and East US.
-
And why are they getting 4 infantry in E. USA and W. USA??? :P
-
Well if you want UK to not die how about I get 4 extra Inf in every territory with <3 Inf
-
Well AJ I hate to say this, but UK is in deep kimchee.
Russia drew first blood on the Empire, and Germany did their “typical” G1 in terms of Egypt and Royal Navy in the Med. Not sure what you have planned to preserve the Empire, but you did select well if you just want to keep London intact and screw the rest of the Empire
I see 4 nations fighting over Africa, and NONE of them are UK
As for my choice of NA’s…
Had Stukas not worked at sea (as they were changed in 2.0) I would indeed have gone U-Boat Interdiction. I ALMOST selected that anyway due to UK’s Radar, but UK only has 1 gun that is an issue for Germany… London’s gun. And I was not letting 1 AA gun in London prevent me from having fun with my cute little Junkers aircraft :-)U-Boat Interdiction would have been nice due to damaging both UK AND USA at the same time (in a FFA game that is very valuable, more so than in a regular game). But increasing the power of my fighters by 40% on the first round of combat in a trading war with Russia… Sorry, that was too good to pass up, especially with Russian Winter looming at some point. When Russian Winter is declared (once) I will still be able to do serious harm that turn with my Stukas.
-
@ncscswitch:

Assuming you are attacking something without a defending fighter. :P
Sorry, I just see Russian Winter as the nuclear option to hold Moscow just one more round before it falling.
-
I think you guys should have changed the turn order to let the UK go before Germany, so that the UK has some chance at defending itself : /
-
@Cmdr:
Assuming you are attacking something without a defending fighter. :P
For Russia to be able to have a FIG there at all means that they have held it for a complete turn, and that that point we are not talking “trading” territories anymore, at least not in the classic sense :-)
Stukas in a FFA game are also more valuable in that there can be no 1-2 (or 1-2-3) counter-attack and defense of a territory. UK or USA cannot take a territory from Germany and then the USA or USSR fly in a FIG to block Stukas (nor can that occur with any other nation or territory). It is all ONE nation against all the others, so for defensive FIGs to come into play against Stukas, the same nation has to take and hold for a complete turn to prevent a Stuka counter-attack via defensive FIGs.
So against Moscow or London, Stukas are a non-issue. But for the rest of the game board anywhere near Germany…
-
I agree, Stukas own.
