Well I have come up with a plan, not sure if its the best one, but for now I feel this is the most promising. Depending on how well I can bend or implement the rules to accommodate me ;) Not sure what to make of all the new politics yet, how it can help me or turn against me. The rules (the link you send me) didnt mention much about politics and what nations can do what etc. Its not really rules, more a explanation on whats on the board and where you are at in the war (what year etc)

UK can declare war on Italy first turn, its in the politics, as well as Italy can declare war on either UK and or France.

I wanted to send ftrs towards Italy (airbase) to help upgrade the defense vs UK and France navy attacks, but because Italy is still out of the war it wouldnt let me. Thats the downside playing with the Axis in this scenario. I also reckon that the Allies can take a lot of territory to help them boost their economy, they are already very rich it seems.

I have taken a look at the politics panel in the game itself, I think there is some kind of bug or so going on. Because Japan is allied to Italy, but Germany is not yet allied. Seems strange that Italy is already allied to Japan and not yet to Germany.

But it wasn’t stated in the 1939 thread, and as Panther says, we should never trust TripleA for rules (even if I am guilty of that myself sometimes). It could simply be an unintended and undesired consequence of something else (even if I think that’s unlikely). I guess my standard of proof is much higher than yours. I’m fine going with these rules regardless.

Actually, Italy’s navy in sea zones 95 and 97 is very safe for turn 1, as are its North African units (I ran the calculations).

Well my standard of proof might be as high as yours, but this is my first game as well and live and learn is my motto at the moment. Just curious to see what this game is all about, I take some difficulties going a long the way for granted.
