Concerning Japan

i think u were too passive in the late game.

Not just rd 14 i think u had more options there with ur fleet, especially since my navy was big, but more defensive in nature (consisting of several nations and lacking USA air , maybe even ships, for greater offensive capacity).

For me USA air also helped a lot killing Japanes inf on non-coastal territories, it gave China free inf, time , money and space ( not needing to spend a lot of units in lots of small battles, since China lacks air which Japan has in abundance.).

As for Volgograd, yeah U missed there a bit, maybe Kazahstan the most.

But as i said, weird game, so much units in the Mediteranean.

At one moment we had combine TUV of 5000 .
(allies 3000, axis 2000).

I never saw it in my life.

Usually, there is much more death on both sides :D

We were both good in defence and avoiding risky battles, building our path to victory patiently.

U offered very little to exploit during the game (minus those straffe and maybe Volgograd a bit in the end). So i must aplaud U , it is so many turns and moves with facing so much allied units on air, sea and land.

I think that simbolically those lads in Volgograd that survived (UK Europe aa guns, UK Pacific land and ANZAC air units) are like a simbol that altough criplled in the Med, with advancing to European theatre were able to change the course of the game + UK Europe aa guns.

As for USA, i had so much problems with Ur German air, i should have bring more air and sea units, and not so much focus on land, since i could not break through ur defences.

But i was afraid to loose Spain or Gibraltar, and I had to watch out for Sea Lion too.

On the other hand I agree with U on France. I lost a lot there, but it took Germany s attentions, and key resources (like some fighters and a bunch of land units which could be on the Eastern front instead).

With my Soviet lads my plan was to attack Novgorod and stack there, and if threatened , move towards Norway to spread Germany s forces and take Germany s money.

Maybe even later USA could take norway, russia move land troops, and allies there air, and it could be a new fortress in the North.

Norway is the thing i couldnt pull with USA and UK since i had so much work in the Meditereanean.

I had to sacrifice it.

Overall, i am glad i attacked the neutrals, but it had its disatvantages (German air can easily reach almost anything - especially bombers).

Main advantage is making it simple for USA to bring masses of units to Western Europe.

I had to do it, because i would loose a big stack, maybe in other conditions, I would be pulling it out later, or even not to (depending on the axis play).

just one thing more

as for Volgograd purchase edit U wanted, even if it was not ˝the decisive battle˝ i would not allow it

since i dont allow altercations after the dices are thrown (its messy, can cause problems among players).

That is my general rule

I sometimes make rare exceptions if its 100 % sure it has nothing do to with the other side of the board (usually ncm corrections) and even if its the same side and its obvious somebody simply forgot to move a unit somewhere

Its very fair play off U not to be complaining beacuse of the situation (loss in a toss)

we are all human, and sometimes (negative) emotions overtake us

Were U at any time in earlier rounds planning to attack ˝Yunnan superfortress˝ (30+ allied units) or it was not an option (too risky ?)

I must say that 3 aa guns as a bid proved quite effective

I had that in mind to go All in there, but in that case I didn’t had airforce to sink All the lonely annoying ships in the pacific. I used to make 100% battles and dont like sub vs dd for example. I Was also afraid of the AA Guns: 7*3 that was exactly the amount of japanese airforce units…
With more experience I might do it and try my luck with only Subs against the other ships…
It Was very annoying with 3-4 Nation there, chinese and uk as canoper for the russian mechs + ftr… (Malaya, Hong Kong)

yeah, China and UK can come behind enemy lines in China
and UK and Russia can do it in Malaya

I even brought USA air to take down poor Jap inf

Yes please, seems like you had an unorthodox plan with your 24ipc, therefore I’d be fine ;-) . With a ‘usual’ bid of 24ipc I can hardly imagine to challange you. How long do you play TripleA/Axis & Allies?

Well, U almost won this game so , dont underestimate Urself.

I ve been playing it a long time ago. Now i had a few years break.

I think i played 20 games by forum (Global 1940 and BM)

As for the 24 IPC bid

yeah, i pulled just enough aa guns to yunnan

and my 5 nation stack in Yunnan is my biggest proud :)

yeah, its tricky for Japan, risky battle in Yunan, and then U stay vulnerable in the Pacific without the majority of planes
