I like 1941. It’s basic, sure, and I rarely play it now, but that’s what I started playing the entire franchise on, and I wanna use that knowledge and experience.

@djensen If teams are something you’re unwilling to negotiate on, what is your provisional list of “allowed” games? There are many A&A games out there which range in both “official-ness” (i.e. “mainline” games like Classic Vs. “spin-offs” like D-Day) and overall value and perceived balance (i.e. most users on here prefer G40, balance notwithstanding, while games like Zombies and 41 are pretty much universally derided).

@DoManMacgee I agree with you. Some consider Global War 1936-45 an A&A game. I’m not saying that it can’t be considered one, but if we’re only using mainline games, does it count? After all, it’s not manufactured by Hasbro, who holds the rights, or Renegade, who manufactures the game currently.

@djensen Why are we not including both d-day and bulge? I suppose it would make sense as many only have d-day and bulge deserves love.

@djensen swap out zombies for revised (since you had zombies there as a joke anyway)? IMO it’s distinct enough from 42SE to warrant consideration

In my very much egocentric perspective, here are the game I would choose if we’re narrowing them down (note it’s only the ones I’ve played before):

Global 1940
1942 Second Edition
1941
1914
D-Day

But yeah, the best scenario is all of them. Every 2 years sounds good.

@djensen I think it might make sense to boil down bulge, d-day, and Guadalcanal into one round, letting players choose, as not all players have all three. Here’s my list.

1. G40
2. 42SE
3. Anniversary
4. North Africa
5. Classic
6. Guadalcanal, D-day, Bulge
7. Revised

@djensen personally, I’m a fan of 1914, but I don’t think it should be in this league due to its spin-off nature. At most, it should go in the same category as bulge/dday/Guadalcanal. Old Europe, old pacific, and their individual 1940 edition counterparts weren’t mentioned by anyone either, probably for the best.

Why not set it up so if you wanted to only play certain games those are the ones you would sign up for. No teams individual players, and you would get one point for a win and -1 point for a loss. After a predetermined time you could have a playoff among the top 4 from each game and the top 4 from totaling of all the games. As for rules I would go with either out of box.
