@The-Captain You’re absolutely right, but as the Russian player I’ve been glad to see those factories bombed out. Germany has moved the Southern Italy, Berlin, and Paris factories underground as they consider those the main factories they’ll be producing from. The Allies learned this the hard way too the India Industrial Complex took a lot of bombing damage. It’s kind of late but UK may finally put that factory underground.

Germany launches a massive offensive with Army Group Center against Smolensk.

Additional Infantry & Panzer units are supporting Army Group Center as well. The entire German Luftwaffe is moved to the Eastern Front.
The German High Command has planned an All Out Offensive against the Soviet Capital, Moscow - in the beginning of Late 1946.
The best & most hard hitting German fighting units of the entire War are all within striking distance of the Soviet Capital.
In the West and South, the core of the German Army including 2nd and 3rd Panzer Armies, has been withdrawn into the German Hinterland - to lure the Allied Forces into a deadly trap.
Once the Allied Forces have advanced deeper into German occupied territories, a massive German counter offensive will be launched - and will eliminate all Allied Forces in Europe.

Allied Forces have pushed both German & Japanese troops back on most fronts.
But Russia is threatened by a Massive German Army Group - Army Group Center - on the Eastern Front.
British Royal Air Force and UK Tank units are present in Moscow to strengthen the defense of the Soviet Capital.
In the West, United States has landed in Normandy - again - and has a foothold in Southern Europe.
Massive German Army Formations are assembled in the Western Europe sphere.
Those German formations will be supported by 1st and 2nd Panzer Armies - in the German counter attack that is to be launched in Early 1947.
The German Strategic Plan is to attack and destroy most Allied Forces in Europe - and at the same time launch Operation Typhoon - the attack on Moscow.
If succesfull, those Massive Offensive Operations will break the Allied capability to fight in Europe.
If Moscow is captured by German Army Group Center, the War will be over - and the Axis will be Victorious.

I like the sound of this!

Round Late 1946 has been added to the Global 1943 No.3 Game Report.
-
@the-captain Wow Good Action here. This has been a fun one to follow along with.
Are those Uk Fighters in Rostov ? Mosquitoes ?
-
So close, Axis! Please let them win!
-
This Global 1943 game has been one of the most intense. It is also the first time since 1996 that we play by e-mail.
We’ve seen a great Naval Battle in the Pacific, as well as multiple Massive Offensive Operations on the Eastern Front.
The Fighter units that were moved to Rostov in Early 1946 are UK Fighter units (Spitfire).
Those Fighter units come from India - and are on their way to Moscow. The German Air Units in Belarus are:
- 2 x Heinkel 111 Bombers
- 4 x Messerschmitt Me 262 Jet Fighters
- 7 x Messerschmitt Bf 109 Fighters
-
1996?! Wtf I wasn’t even born at that time xD
That is a long time ago then! I think that the 1943 setup is the best one out there. Lot’s of different tactical and strategic decisions you have to make right from the get-go.By the way, what inspired you to make a revised setup for 1943? Wasn’t the old one not balanced enough? Not historically accurate? (I saw that Smolensk is now German, and Caucasus is Russian, like they were in Late 1942, so that’s more historically accurate.)
After I finished my ongoing 1940 game on my table, I want to play the revised 1943 scenario! I bought some extra pieces so hopefully I don’t run out of figures during the game :)

Talk about Balance Of Play: No. 3 Game Report, Global 1943:
-
The German Army & Luftwaffe are ready to launch the Final Assault on Moscow.
A succesfull Operation Typhoon will end the War with an Axis Victory. -
The Allies have a combined IPC Level at 188 IPC.
1 more IPC in favor of the Allies - and the Allies win the War.
-
-
The attached pictures at the Global 1943 Expansion, Revised pg. 1 show the actual Historical Military & Political Situation in Late 1942 - Early 1943
Please refer to the Global 1943 Expansion, Revised thread for further questions & comments concerning Global 1943 rules etc.

A few other German small scale counter attacks are also launched - see later pictures during Non-Combat Movement.

Result of the German counter attack in Normandy:
Non-Combat Movement:
Situation around the Moscow area:
Situation around the Normandy area:
Germany has captured Moscow.
The Allies have no chance of re-capturing Moscow.
Even though The Allies were extremely close to win the War economically (the Allies had a combined IPC level at 188 IPC at the end of Late 1946), Germany has won a Military Victory and has defeated the enemy on the battlefield.
Both sides have fought with skill and determination - but in the end, The Axis have won the War.
-
@the-captain What a Fun game ! Enjoyed the after action reports
-
Yeahhhhhh! Germany took Moscow, Germany took Moscow! That was the closest game I’ve seen so far! Really shows that you’re a top player (helped by the fact that you created these rules). Also shows you’re proficient as both Axis and Allies.
Insane battles. So many aircraft.
-
Great Game, nice tactics, very good pictures and nice reports 💪🏻
-
By the way, did Germany retake Romania?

Global 1940, No. 5 Game Report: Round Late 1943 (round 7):
This is the only post in the Global 1940 No. 5 Game Report.
Players:
Axis: The Captain
Allies: Dark KnightFrom Early 1940, Germany launched a Massive U-Boat Offensive in The Battle Of The Atlantic.
This offensive continued during the entire War, with a continued high U-Boat production. The fighting on the Eastern Front was clearly marked by the massive German U-Boat production, since the reinforcements on the Eastern Front were scarce.
Nonetheless the German Army Group North & Army Group South were doing progress - slowly but surely - deeper into Soviet territory.
The Soviet Union defended their frontlines with 1st & 2nd Tank Armies, 1st, 2nd & 3rd Army Corps - and an almost unlimited amount of Red Army Conscription Infantry units - slowing down the German offensive.
Japan wiped out the last Chinese forces in Early 1942 - and kept pressure on the US Navy in the Pacific, forcing a complete withdrawal of all US Naval units.
United States declared War on Japan in Late 1941 - fortified the Philippines - and started a build up in the Atlantic to counter the German U-Boats of the Kriegsmarine.
United Kingdom was surrounded by German Wolf Packs - and almost starved out.
No Large Scale Offensive was ever launched by United Kingdom anywhere during the War.
India was fighting with its back against the wall - and was threatened in Early 1943 from the West by a German breakthrough in the Middle East.ANZAC fought bravely - but alone without support from either United States or United Kingdom.
The Allied Nations seemed to fall apart - with no chance of getting a foothold in either the Pacific or Europe.
Late 1943:
Germany takes over Italy.
On the Eastern Front Germany launches an all-out offensive from North to South.
The Middle East and Mediterranian are secured by superior German forces.
Gibraltar is captured by German Panzer units in an amphibious assault - to cut off the US Navy from using the Naval Base. The German Luftwaffe is strengthened on a massive scale for a future attack on the US Navy in the Second Battle of The Atlantic.
Japan is launching attacks deep into the Pacific - reaching out as far as Johnston & Line Islands.
The Allied forces are retreating on all fronts.
In the Early 1943 Germany and Japan are close to an Economic Victory - with superior Military Forces.
With no hope for any improvement in the military situation, the Allies have no option but to surrender in Early 1943.
-
Nice the Axis intimateded the Allies to surrender. The Allies still seemed quite powerful holding half of the Dutch East Indies, India, Egypt, Leningrad, Moscow, and the Philippines.

@the-captain said in Global 1940 & 1943 Expansions Game Report Thread:
10 Tank units are purchased by the Soviets (50 IPC). The Total War rule is now available, which means that USSR gets 2 extra Tank units.
Looking through your 43 report again and wouldn’t Russia’s first Total War Tanks cost be 22 bucks for 6 Tanks using the Mass Tanks and then 25 for the next 6 ? Be 47 total ?
-
True:
- Soviet Tank Mass Production: 3 Tank units = 12 IPC
- 2 extra Tank units = 10 IPC
- Soviet Tank Mass Production (12 IPC) + 2 Tank units (10 IPC) is combined with Total War Production - and therefore gives 1 additional Tank unit for free.
- Total War Tank Production: 6 Tank units = 25 IPC
- Total Tank Production: 12 Tank units = 47 IPC
I believe that the 50 IPC mentioned was an anomaly…
